Hi I have just got myself a job to coincide with my full time college place.
The salary is pro rata and i havent a clue how to work this down to monthly, or weekly take home pay.
the rate is £15,827-£17.820 unqualified. So if anyone can do this just take the firat figure and anything more is a bonus!
My hours of work are 72 per month, 3 weeks on 1 week off. (2 night shifts) and the working week is 37 hours.
Hope this is enough info.
Many thanks in advance. x:o

when I work out salaries I usually use the following formula
Annual salary / 260 (working days in year)
this will give daily rate
divide that by amount of hours you work for an hourly rate
or Annual salary / 12 for monthly pay
or Annual salary / 52 for weekly pay
hope that helps

If you work 72 hours per month , that equals 864 per annum . Divide that by 52 and you have approx 17 hrs per week . That is about 45% of the full time 37 hr week so would expect you to be on something like 45 % of the salary you have quoted. That would be £7112 on the lower figure.
However you mention shifts and pay may differ for these so is there any reason why you can't ask the employer what your pay will actually be ?

Hiya £15,827 for a 37 hr week =£8.23 per hour (£15827/52/37)
You'll be working 72 hrs per mth so: 72 x 8.23 = £593 per mth
or £7110 per annum.
If you search on internet you'll find a salary calculator whcih will work out your take home pay for you from this - ie. less tax and NI

Hi Thanks everyone for all help and advice.I havent actually started yet as its working with disabled kids so have to have all the relevant checks etc, will be about 3 weeks time. They had me down as 60 hours a month and queried it this morning so they have realised its 72 hours instaed so new contracts etc have to be drawn up. The wages arent as hugely important as the years experience I will gain before i am qualified. But just like to know where i stand beforehand. thanks all. xx
