View Full Version : Misprice on Lager - if you are prepared to fight for it

After being met with a point blank refusal from Tesco about honouring the advertised price on Heinz Chopped Tomatoes last week, I won't be going for this, but others might be up for it.
Bottles of Grolsch, Carlsberg Export and Carling Lager have all been half price, making the prices Grolsch 6x300ml £3.47, Carlsberg Export 6x300ml, £3.99, Carling Lager 4x300ml, £2.24.
From tomorrow, they are evidently going back up to full price and then going on BOGOF, effectively leaving them at the same price. However, at Tesco online they are all currently showing at half price and already have 'Buy 1 Get 1 FREE - valid from 26/09/2007 until 09/10/2007 - add 2 for offer' next to them. Therefore, you can clearly say that they are offering 12 bottles of Grolsch for £3.47.
This will be fixed by tomorrow morning and they will say they don't have to honour the displayed price, but as I say, maybe someone would like to take them on.

Tesco.com do state that the price charged will be the price instore on the day tho, but I agree, it's very misleading to show pricing in this way.
However if you bought the beer instore and both signs were up, they'd have to honour their DTD policy.

Just to say that with the offers switching over tomorrow, this misprice is online again:
Buy 1 Get 1 FREE
The items below are only available for deliveries on or before 28 October 2007.
Grolsch 6x300ml £3.47 (£1.93/litre)
Carlsberg Export6x300ml £3.99 (£2.22/litre)
Carling Lager 4x300ml Bottles £2.24 (£1.87/litre)
The trouble is that one way or another, all of these will be double this price tomorrow and you can't book a delivery until then.

On a similar theme, there is another online misprice at the moment:
Douwe Egberts Real Cafetiere Coffee 250g - £1.34
Douwe Egberts Real Filter Coffee 250g - £1.35
These are both currently showing as BOGOF, but the prices shown above are half price as well, so this is a mistake. The difference here is that the BOGOF offer ends on Wednesday, so if you book a delivery for tomorrow, there is a good chance that they will not have fixed the error in time.

After success with the Douwe Egberts glitch, I've concluded that there may be a window of opportunity the day before certain BOGOF offers end. In this respect, I will be checking on the Grolsch and Carlsberg on Saturday October 27th, as the current offer ends on Sunday October 28th. If things look good, I will place an order with delivery on the Sunday.

This is on again, but only on Carling:
Buy 1 Get 1 FREE
The items below are only available for deliveries on or before 17 February 2008. To take advantage of this offer, add 2 items (or multiples of 2) to your basket.
Carling Lager 4x300ml Bottles - £2.24
£2.24 is half price and doubtless they will double the price tomorrow, but it could be worth a go.

instore the computers take 24 hours to update... thats the reason they take offers off the shelf a day early
with dot com you agree to pay the price they scan at
but you can return anything when you get delivery without exception
they also don't pay DTD on dot com
just somethings to be aware of
