OH went to start the feeding & found one of the cows had calved. Shes had a lovely dun coloured heifer calf.

We knew she was in calf but we didnt expect her to pop it out just yet :)

Will put a piccy on here tomorrow.

Had the ewes scanned last week, not too bad.

Got:

54 having 1 ( a lot of these are 1st time lambers)
67 having 2 ( inc DD pet which would be better if it was only having 1)
22 having 3
1 having 4

The fun will begin the beginning of March. Anyone fancy a job swap??

Or a quick dunk in cold water makes them gasp & start breathing.

Numpty perhaps we'd better train as mid-wives I like our techniques :D

I love lambs! I'm an Aries, am always sick after eating lamb (but love it)
Cant remember who it was when I was little but they had a farm and told me if I could catch a lamb I could have it! (picture rotund farmer laughing at the little girl) I only blinkin caught one! But it must have been sick as it mysteriously died overnight!! ( I know now, dont worry, it was dinner on the Sunday)

She ( named eileen by kids) OH thinks its funny as kids are shouting come on Eileen ( they've no idea it a song).

She will stay with us until she ready for market - approx 24 months old. She will go outside for 2 summers & then fattened over winter. Depends who buys her as to where she will end up.
