My clubcard vouchers are burning a hole in my pocket and despite all intentions of saving them I just cant :)

Im looking for some advice from those who have used french life. I am looking to book somewhere including the ferry crossings but wanted to check some things. Is the ferry crossing foot only or can we take our car. Also is there somewhere anyone can recommend that isnt too far from the ferry crossing. I dont know France at all and my geography is rubbish.

Thanks in advance.

Haven't used them yet but may well book soon, similar to you. We were thinking of one of the Center Parcs (there are 3 but one is in the South, one nearish to Paris and one is in Normandy I think).

Here's a previous similar thread with useful info:

I must try to decide about ours very soon, does anyone know if we would still get the 15% discount if booking by end of Feb and paying mainly in Deals?

Depends on what you want - Center Parcs is appealing to me but last year we took my parents and kids and stayed in a cottage in a lovely peaceful location about 30 minutes drive (I think - or maybe it was 30km) from Roscoff. Cottage and ferry crossing to Calais were included, I seem to remember we had to pay supplement (in real money) for Roscoff, Took the car and just spent the week sightseeing. Beautiful beaches and scenery all around the area. Lots of French markets, cheese, wine, beer, cider etc.

p.s. we bought a french map for our sat nav which was well worth it - made sightseeing a piece of cake!

We felt the same and I didn't find the French Life website easy to work out, also when I looked I don't think they had the Center Parcs online.

So I went a a travel agents and picked up a French Life brochure along with a Ferry Crossings one and another one on France, just so we could all read about it and see the piccies. It helped our kids see what I had been looking up on the FL website & read what facilities were there without having to click on separate links & call them over to the pc every 5 minutes.

We haven't booked yet but this has helped us see which regions are where, a lot better than before, and we have some idea where to start now.

Oh WOWWWWW!!!!!!

I've just looked at that centreparcs!!!!

Just picking myself up off the floor, its amazing!!!! I hadnt really looked into French holidays tbh, as didnt fancy the "cottage in the countryside" thing. But WOW, that centreparcs is something else!!!

I think I've just decided where we're going next summer!!! :D:D :love::love:

Just did a very quick pricing - but its in euros!! How do you work out what that is in pounds please? being a bit dim... :der:

Those lakeside villas are amazing......whirlpool baths!!!!!

Has anyone actually been & can tell me is it really as good as it looks?!

oh, and where exactly in France is it, how long from ferry etc?????

Thanks for that Rach!!

I'll pop into a travel agent over the weekend & pick up a brochure to have a proper look. The frenchlife website doesnt seem to list the centerparcs? Or am I missing something?

Definitely going to save for that next summer though, the kids will love it! So will I! And DH wont have a choice!!! hehehe.

They both look fab. Everytime I tried to get a price it said the accomodation was unavailable. I 'lll just have to try again later as not sure if full or problem with site.
