Hi Guys

Me and ladies at work are obsessed with food and dieting! All we seem to talk about!
They have managed though to get on track and be good. Trouble is they are all doing different diets and i'm just confused!

Slimming World, Rosemary C, WW, exercise nuts! ARRRRRGGHHHH, so many, but which is best.

I have managed to put on a stone since DEC. It really gets me down! I am taking son to docs tomorrow for jabs and am tempted to ask doc for some tablets to help me along the way!

HELP PLEASE!

I am 5'5" and 12st 9lb!

Eat less (still a balanced diet though!!) AND exercise more

There's no other way - you can give it all the fancy names you want . . . but simply put - if you eat less energy than you burn - you'll start to lose weight . . .

for me its always been weight wathchers, eat what you like in moderation.

However, all weight loss programes require you to excerise - there really is no getting away from it i'm afraid. If you have a large amount to lose, the first stone/stones fall off without exercise but at some point it needs to be done and it helps increase you metabolism and relieve stress. Have fun, i know i am. I need to lose 2 stone to get back to my pre baby weight.

I lost 3/4 of a stone before christmas in about 4 weeks. No specific diet but did the kelloggs kickstart thing cereals for breakfast & lunch,( had a great variety, different types of special K etc) and a proper dinner, loads of fruit for snacking & loads of water, after the two weeks, I craved junk for a few days but soon got over it & after the 2 weeks didnt even feel like eating biscuits & chocolate, so just carried on with the cereal for breakfast, but healthy lunch & dinner etc. lost half stone in first 2 weeks & another quarter over 3rd & 4th week, but sadly over christmas began eating too much again, so need to sort it out again, luckily i have only put about a quarter of a stone back on though, so not too bad!!

I am the same I say I am going to start dieting them Dh will come home with a packet of peanut butter cups for me, (he is no help!!) best thing is to set yourself a date, make sure you have plenty of fruit etc in & no choccy or crisps!! I didnt buy it so couldnt eat it, just got the kids a chocolate biscuit & packet of crisps for their lunches on the way to school, found after the first week, I was able to buy it again & didnt even want to eat it!!

Read the nutritional information labels and be aware of the ammount of sugar, salt and saturated fat contained in your food, advice here http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/healthydiet/nutritionessentials/fatssugarssalt/

and good luck :)

I've just started weight watchers AGAIN for umteenth time, I find it hard cos 18 points just doesnt seem a lot, theres no room for error. I find i go through phases of trying to live off say 12 points fail and then stuff my face for a couple of weeks.
Having said that I went to the gym mon & tuesday, did 15 mins on bike, cross and treadmill and the scales have gone down a bit which will now spur me on to do more. Sometimes it's just getting the ball rolling thats the hard part once your up and running it gets easier.

A nice lady gave me a tip yesterday at the gym i told her that i didnt like the treadmill as much cos it didnt seem to burn off many calories so she told me increase the incline instead of trying to run. She does 45 mins gradually increasing the speed and incline and she has lost 1 stone 5lbs in 6 weeks:eek:

Hi that is a good tip, came back from maldives a couple of weeks ago the food was absolutely amazing we were on full board, there was a gym there with scales:eek: did half an hour fast walking on the treadmill on a highish incline daily and didn't gain any weight, that's with three meals a day and I eat the puddings. Haven't gained any at home either.
