I left the fact finders panel last week after 12 years. At first it was worth it and was fun, now it is far too time consuming. This depends on the amount of shopping you buy each week.
They provide you with a piece of kit which you plug into a phone line and then you scan the barcodes off your shopping each week. the info is collected overnight by them once a week.
In return you get 75 pts per week and I think a 100 bonus points if you transmit each week of the month. total off approx 400 pts a month.
These points can be exchanged for gifts, HOWEVER GIFT CATALOGUE IS LIMITED AND EXPENSIVE.
IE.ipod suffle can be purchased for about £32 (Tescos webs site) you need 5100 points in order to get one from this site. So would take you over a year. Stuff purchased from Morrisons is a real pain, they put there own barcodes on which factfinders do not regognise. Reduced stuff is also a load of grief. I am not sure but I think everyone receives the same number of points per week regardless of the size of the household.

I have just decieded to stick with shop and scan 1000 pts a week equiv to
£1, redemable for gift vouchers and the chance to answer surveys etc and receive bonus points. Lat year I ended up with £100 from shop and scan. Its much easier.

Shop and Scan is much easier. I also gave up on Fact Finders, as already mentioned too time consuming for too little reward.

Hi! I've been doing factfinders for about 20 years now....Its easy and just means creating a new habit after you shop.
I've had drills, strimmer, weather station, ipod etc as gifts from points acrude. They also send other questionaires to allow you to boost your points if you want to...:)

I have just started doing fact finders - is really easy (much easier than I thought)! Will keep at it for a while at least. Really want to do shop n scan, but never hear from them although I keep registering!

A total at the end but it is a pain when you have to say bogof or what type of meat it is and key in weight. Shop and Scan is definitely better.

Just had an invite to this. Wish I had read this thread before signing up.:( Sounds like it's more bother than it's worth.

Think I got mixed up and assumed it was shop and scan, but now realise those are the people I haven't heard from. :(

I assume they will send me some type of gizmo to input my weekly shop. Will give it a go for 6 months as I dont like to say I will do something and then mess people about.

Did it for several years but it was so time consuming. Not so bad if you shop once a week but if you do frequent small shops - avoid
Had 1 reward in 2 years - A lawnmower

Thanks for replying TD. Now there are no more points I am back to doing one large 80 to 100 pound shop per week depending on what I need so I may be OK. I don't really like supermarkets

Not too bad then
You have to scan everything you buy. The machine needs to be plugged into your phone socket. You will be asked to input your favourite shops and then scan all your shopping.
You are rewarded with weekly points which can be exchanged for a variety of gifts.

Thanks again, will give it a go. As long as it doesn't mess up my phone line or PC I'm not too bothered about giving up 30 mins or so to do it. Have repped you for your help.

Juat read the link in the first post. Are they American ? Seems odd that they want to know what I am buying at the supermarket each week in the UK.

Thanks :) I was begining to wonder what I had signed up for. Think it's the lack of points to chase, people keep emailing me to join things and I have been saying yes to everthing.

And their European Head Office is in Oxford . . .

They are, in every sense - a Blue Chip company . . you can trust them

Sounds like I would be better off owning shares in them than inputting me weekly shop. :D

Tempting - but don't, Manufacturers will be reducing the amount of money they spend on market research during Gordon's Credit Crunch :)

I've been doing this for a while now, and find it quick and easy, but I was worried at first that I would forget to do it or it would be too time consuming, but all seems ok at the mo :)

Georgie

Thanks for posting.:) I am going to give it a go. Presumably you get quicker at it after the first few times. Hopefully i will just have to upload it once a week. I assume they dont want to know if you go out and buy a pair of shoes.

Just won runner up prize for last months fact finders survey. Was quite chuffed until I read what I had won - a freeview set top box. No use to me as our tvs have inbuilt freeview.

Still can always sell on ebay.
