Hi all, anybody got a faviourate self tan that does not leave you looking as though you have been tangoed, is easy to apply, and won't give you orange hands. have tried the light olay one, which is good but does'nt have much colour,

Unfortunaltely i think they will all give you orange hands unless you scrub your hands really well afterwards! The colour sticks to dead skin more, so the softer your hands the better too.
I always use the inside towelling bit of an old sports sock to rub my elbows and knees etc after applying to take off any excess and stop the orange!

use some of the gloves that you get in hair dye - stops hands going "tangoey"

Make sure you exfoliate prior to self tan, brands to recomend are lancaster and Clarins, but unfortunately neither are cheap! The tanning spray boothes are good.

I used to use Clarins and St Tropez, and as scottiedog says exfoliate beforehand to achieve the best results.

I noramaly use the St Tropez range, i found the mousse easier to apply. My friend recommends Fake Bake I personally dont know much about it. I also find the Johnsons Holiday Skin body lotion quite good it gives a natural look.

I use the Johnson's Body Lotion with a hint of self tan in it - over the period of 4-5 days it give you a nice even all over tan that looks really natural and as its really mild and long as you wash your hands after it doesn't make your hand glow! There are two types - one is for fair skin and isn't too strong , the other is for medium to dark skin and is a bit stronger - i have this one as my skin is natually a bit darker. Also its not to expensive and is always on specail somewhere! :)

Fake Bake is just like the old St Tropez Cream. Both are great and easy to apply (use gloves first then use a sponge to apply to your hands). These are super scary to use at first because they are so dark, but they're dark to act as a colour guide to where the cream has been. It washes away so don't worry. The St Tropez mousse and spray are fab though. Very easy to rub in, not as thick as the cream either. St Tropez is great as it has green pigments in it to reduce the tango effect.

My SIL in Plymouth, who always has a natural tan says that they can recognise the newly arrived holidaymakers by their "holiday legs", meaning white legs wearing shorts. lol
