It means you have spent too much time in the H and B section working out a £10 pre bogof spend.

free on facebook :)

I think I'm one of the only ppl not on facebook!

Thinking about it I'm sure the test I did wasn't as long as a proper iq test so it probably isn't accurate - I'm sure it's just one of these dodgy sites which want ur personal details to sell!

156 on a proper IQ test a few years ago. 2 babies later I reckon it's now in minus figures lol. Not entirely sure what purpose the tests are supposed to serve?

I was quietly amused to hear my boss (earns £275 an hr) telling anyone who would listen that he scored 135 :D

P.S. You're not the only one not on facebook :)

LOL NinaB - Same here... I scored 157 and joined Mensa about 15 years ago. :noidea: not quite sure why  All I remember was a lot of abstract pictures, so I guess it's about how your brain processes information.

Like you, 2 babies have turned my brain to mush :p:p:der:

(oh, and I need to join the not on facebook club :heh:)

It's ok - I'm not on there either!

Taken from Mensa website:
There are several scales with which IQ may be measured depending upon which testing mechanism is used, for this reason the most reliable and consistant value to be placed on IQ is that of the percentile.
An IQ of 150 is meaningless unless the testing mechanism is cited, but an IQ in the 98th percentile has consistant meaning.
I became a Mensa member as a child ( I think I peaked educationally at age 10 lol !)
I never renewed my membership as I didn't understand why you would pay mensa an annual membership fee just so others know you are intellegent.

I doubt any of the online tests you have done are real psychometric ability tests, which can measure your IQ. Real tests take years and thousands of person hours to develop and trial to ensure they are valid, and not biased against any group. I am trained in delivering psychometric tests and it would be unethical to allow someone to complete a real test without access to help and support afterwards.

As to what an IQ of X means, it depends on the scale you are using. As IQ is a quotient, 100 is the average by definition. But the difference of an IQ of 100 and 110 isn't great, the difference between 110 and 120 is much larger and as you get into the outlying figures, then a point difference is massive. Whilst your IQ is consistent over time (or the tests are not measuring what they claim to be) all have error margins, usually of about 5 to 10 IQ points, so you may get slight changes day to day, due to the tests not being 100 % accurate.

As to Mensa IQs and other IQs - Mensa use a slightly different statistical technique in calculating IQ, rounding up when every other scale rounds down, meaning Mensa measured IQs are always higher than on other scales (not that they're wrong, but you need to knwo the stats behind it before you start bragging!)

I scored 153:D

Do you ever do those ones on the telly Test the nation? I usually score around 136/137 on them even when I'm cooking dinner between rounds and with a couple of kids climging on my back and shouting all the way through lol. I'm always quite pleased about that.

But even with an IQ of 190 I still would have been baffled by your post Khufu ROFL
