Hotel Cavo Maris Beach, Larnaca - Cyprus

Has anyone been to the Hotel Cavo Maris Beach, Protaras, Larnaca in Cyprus? If so I would be really greatful for your comments.

I've checked out the reviews on Trip Advisor and Holiday Watchdog but just wondering what others thought of the hotel/area?

We went there last year in May. Lots of oldies at that time though and not many children for my son to play with but that may have been because it was school time. The hotel was clean and well kept although to my mind quite basic. We booked direct and got a good rate so I thought it was quite good value for money. Breakfast ok not outstanding. Staff very good. Quite far from Protaras - maybe a 15-20 minute walk. A small beach at the back of the hotel which I have been told has been tidied up this year.

Not in Larnaca though - that's where you fly into and it's about an hours drive to Protaras.

What else would you like to know ?

Thanks Cazbar :) We're looking at going in May too (13th May for 2 weeks), I didn't really want DS missing too much school, so we'll only be there for 1/2 week of the half term. Was there much going on for the kids to do (DS will be 6)?

Also, what was the weather like? OH is worried that it won't be very hot, but with DS2 that will have just turned 1, we don't really want it too hot.
