Lidl don't take mocs. The only one they will accept is the ?5 off ?30 spend that have been in the papers a while ago which are Lidl specific.

I remember that well avstar, I don't think pumpkins were available in those days. I always thought a swede was a turnip, until I got married and my DH thought I was so ignorant for not knowing the difference.

I think swede is orange and turnip flesh is white...both stink :p

Aldi have big packs of Dried Herbs on offer for 99p from Thursday July 22nd.

'Choose from: Bay leaves 25g, Parsley 60g, Basil 80g or Oregano 80g'.

It's not a very exciting offer, but when you take on board that a 19g jar of cheapo brand dried basil in Tesco is 57p = ?3.00 per 100g and a 3g jar of Tesco brand bay leaves is 66p = ?22.00 per 100g, you can see that this is a lot cheaper.

In the freezer section, 750g bags of chicken wings, drumsticks or pork ribs (all either BBQ, chilli or chinese flavour) for 79p.

750g bags of chicken mini fillets for 79p but sold out in my local so don't know full details.

Cucumber, onions, potatoes, broccoli all 39p. Iceberg lettuces 49p. Boxes of grapes ?1.29.

Also their own make 'toastie' bread reduced to 69p. This is really nice, closest to warburtons but without the 1.30ish price tag

They have got lots of Christmas stuff in already but didn't have a great amount of time to look, did notice some lovely looking stollen though :o and BIG tins of Victoria choc biccies for ?4.99.

Don't very often visit aldi - too far away, Today found the same as value toilet rolls 12 for 1.48 - asda's equivalent ?1.60 (200 sheets), cucumbers 39p and on the vine toms 450g 89p which seems pretty goood too. Not massive money saving but every little helps if you are passing.

I was in a new Aldi yesterday and en route to my Dads, not been to Aldi for a long while but I was very impressed with the fruit and veg - I got all of the salad veg cheaper than normal - cucumber, toms, radish etc. Also got bags of green apples and bags of breaburns apples for ?1 each, also pointed cabbage, caul and broccoli all cheaper. Milk was ?1 for 4 pints and a sliced loaf was 47p. I also got my Dad Aldis version of chicken cup a soup with croutons, much cheaper than Batchelors

Big new poster in my local today: 1 kg of chicken breasts ?4.99. Pork chops ?2.99 (I think either per kg or for 4).

Had gone in for veg but went back in then for chicken but it had sold out. I think it must be a new offer because lad said they would have more tomorrow. He said it had gone really quickly (not surprised at that price).

Six new fruit and veg today: Blueberries 69p, nectarines 69p, 8 kiwi fruit pack 69p, new potatoes 69p, runner beans 69p and melons 69p. They also were selling broccolli at 49p and cucumbers at 49p.

Aldi is now showing on mysupermarket. I assume this was added today as the site was down earlier this morning and when I have just checked now Aldi added, though it does seem quite limited as to what it shows and states "Listed ALDI prices are updated once a week (every Wednesday)"

There is also a new comparison lever, not had chance to check that out yet.

Yep just noticed this too, not sure how it will work though as Aldi don't do internet shopping and don't carry big brands. Looks like they compare to Supermarket own brands, but to me Aldi's brand quality is more on a par with big brands than own brands if that makes sense.

I picked up a bottle of Austins this morning while in Aldi. While waiting in the queue I realised that it wasn't the usual 70cl bottle, but a 1 litre bottle. It went through the till at ?5.99
I went back in to stock on a few more bottles and saw that both sizes were on the shelf, but the only price label was ?5.99 for the 70cl bottle. I've never seen a 1 litre bottle before
