bought a posh frock yest, did pay over the odds but was still a cracking deal and i was happy with what i paid, for my bridesmaid.
just after it finished i got a message via ebay offering to buy it off me, i said no, that person has no feedback
bridesmaid then rings me to say she got a second chance offer on the frock for just under half what i paid:eek:
what would u do?

So a third party contacted you to ask if you'd sell it to them? Had they missed the bidding, cause if they'd bid they'd have been offered a second chance too, wouldn't they? Can you send the dress back once you have it, say it's the wrong size or something and keep the one your BM got?

Hmm sounds a bit dodgy to me, so you had your bridesmaid bidding on the same dress?
Have you paid yet? Whats the past feedback like?

Ahhh so you reckon she just has loads of these dresses and is so offering them to all bidders as second chance? and it must of just been on the off chance that someone who hadn't bid who really wanted it then contacted you. If I were you I would message the seller and just say your a little concerned as to whats going on and explain that you had your bridesmaid bidding on the same dress and that shes been offered a second chance.

I agree with KK's suggestion, but would just say a friend wanting the same dress had unknown to you bid as well IYSWIM.
Explain you only found out when she saw your ID as the winner and she phoned you.....then say you are unhappy about the SC offer being so much less than bid price and see what her reaction is?
I wouldn't let on it was your bridesmaid who was also bidding as that would sound a bit odd that you were bidding against each other IYSWIM.
It seems very strange that the seller is prepared to see so much cheaper to the underbidder - if listings aren't private, can you look to see from gfb or sales what sort of price seller has previously sold same or similar dresses for?

I'm not sure I understand the 0 fb ID contacting you with an offer to buy the dress - seems very odd?
Can you check the bid history to see if anyone with 0 fb placed an earlier bid?
