Younger DD will be 6 next week, and one of the things she wants is roller skates. Now I have no experience of these, I've been searching online and starting to glaze over. I found these on Argos
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3672363/Trail/searchtext%3EROLLER+SKATES.htm
Which I thought would be just right, at £16, but the size says 8.5-13.5 - now she is currently nearly a 12, so would she grow out of them too quickly??
All the others I can find are either too small/young, or too big/grown up - & around the £35-£40 mark! Which is too excessive for something she may only do for a short time!! I've looked at loads of sites and am losing the will, can anyone offer any advice or suggestions pleeeaaaseee??? :help:
Thank you so much!!

Hi
If she is only just going into a size 12, they should last her a while or until she gets bored with them and whats something else. lol
They are lovely skates

Miss jo . . as your DD is 6, and these are 'learner' skates - I suggest that these are precisely, exactly what you want.
Your DD may well grow out of them in a year - - but you wouldn't want these for longer than that anyway, for if DD really likes skating - then you buy her dearer ones next - and if she doesn't - then the whole experience has cost you only £16!
Sorted!!!!

Safety pads are only £1.99 to match too.
I would defo recommend these, she may not need them with these skates, but if she does progress to bigger ones, then she will be used to wearing them, so no arguments.
My 10 year old has always wore the safety equipment, he is now onto wheelies and he still wears them when out playing and when on his inline rollers!

Thanks chaps, that all makes perfect sense, I think I was becoming blinded by it all!! My first instinct was the lazytown ones, but the size thing confused me - but yes you're right, they'll last long enough!!! Thanks all! Off to rep!

Always seem to see loads of roller boots at car boots so if she sticks with it you could get some good / more expensive ones there. Bought my son some last year & taught him and all the neighbourhood and he took to it like a duck to water and is better than me now. Also once they have learnt to roller skate they can ice skate too.

make sure you get the safety equipment - my daughter has broken her arm twice on roller skates - never again :nono:
She does ice skate sometimes though especially as there is an ice rink 5 minutes walk away :der:

<--having flashbacks here of when I was a skate guard 10 hours a day telling kids to slow down or picking them up when they fell...didnt like wearing the stupid skateland vest though....wonderful if rollering skating made a huge comeback !

Have just bought a pair of nearly new 4 wheel skates for my daughter at a car boot for £1 !! Just wish I could find some for myself, I have some inline skates but much prefer the 4 wheelers.
