View Full Version : I am no longer a moderator

I resigned as a moderator as a month ago. I didn't mention it before because I didn't want to make a big deal out of as I'd resigned before and then changed my mind. :o
I thought I'd start this thread because obviously it's going to be confusing if people don't realise.
I loved being a moderator but found I was doing less and less because of other demands on my time, so thought it unfair to have the title but not be doing anything to justify it. There was never any pressure to do any more. Everyone does however much they can manage and obviously home commitments take priority. I just feel more comfortable knowing I can pop on and chat and spend my time just on the things that interest me.

Can I just say "Thank You" for all your hard work while your were a moderator and hope to still see you around plenty.

Thanks for the nice comments but I enjoyed what I did.
Usually when a moderator steps down it poses the question about replacement but I don't know whether or not a new moderator will be required. When I resigned before, three more moderators were appointed, not to replace me I hasten to add. :D It was just that things were busy at the time so more were needed anyway. They may feel that they have enough at the moment.
Usually people are asked if they want to be moderators and I'm sure that Gizmos will be spoilt for choice as it's a job that anyone who is a regular on here could do. At the time I was asked, the forum was just starting up and I'd been a moderator on LPF where the membership was tiny compared to here.
Just generally posting on here and helping others is appreciated even if you aren't asked to be a mod.

Aw Tiger, that's a shame because you were a great moderator. Always very fair and able to see the big picture (like all the mods on here). You had a good way of putting things without taking any nonsense. I'm sure I speak for everyone though, in saying we understand your reasons, and glad you're not going completely.

I noticed fairly early on that you were no longer a Mod Tiger because of frequently being on the bingo thread. You posted and you was and then the next day you wasn't.
I was going to mention it but thought that you would or another Mod would mention it when the time was right.
Have to admit that I hadn't noticed that Maldives had stepped down.
Thankyou from me too for all your hard work and dedication you have shown to this site during your "employment".

I would also like to add my thanks to Tiger and Maldvies for all their input over the years, I miss them already :(
Your thanks to us other mods are appreciated, but can I also say that there are a lot of extremely helpful people on here who don't have "mod" under their names, but do a lot of work - including but not only, those who keep threads updated for pigsback, coupons, quidco challenges, Boots, baby points, bargains, etc etc etc...I'm not naming names cos I'd be bound to unintentionally leave someone out, but you all know who you are and you are all stars

I stand corrected it was Pumpkin who was telling me off, and she can she is still a mod ha ha! Sorry Tiger.

Ha Ha lol, I wrote it and then realised that a few of us had been posting too including Tyrole and Pumpkin so thought I should check.
More telling me to get some willpower girl and get withdrawing winnings rather then spending them, looks like Tyrole has fallen into the trap now she's next for a telling off. :p

Dont worry I lost and I have learnt my lesson, hangs head in shame. Me and Tyrole now need to make up for our losses and it may take us a few months to get enough scratchcard winnings to make another withdrawal.

But you might just have been lucky like I was on DH's account last week when I won £117 on the 1p games.
