If bought on Boxing Day just gone and you've got the receipt then you don't have anything to worry about!! Please just return it to Argos and ask for a replacement. As it is only 2 months old you don't have to accept a repair as the DS was not fit for the purpose you bought it for. They might tell you to send it to Nintendo but you don't have to - your contract under Sale of Goods Act is with the store - not the supplier so stand your ground. However I think/hope this warning is un-necessary as Argos are usually really good with faulty items.

Just an idea but do you know someone who would be willing to take it back for you as you feel flustered? I've had to take numerous things back to Argos for myself and others and must say they've always been fine.
One of these was an MP3 player which should have had lots of memory and didnt.Got someone more techy to try it and still faulty.By then 30 days guar had well lapsed. No problem to Argos-explained and they exchanged for the nearest available model (£5 dearer one but not charged it:D)New one still works perfectly:)
