Just read this on HUKD and don;t read the waitrose threads as there are none here in Scotland yet (AFAIK) so maybe you all know about this and then again maybe not.

Waitrose is committed to bringing you the best quality food and their reputation has been built, above all, on the quality and freshness of their food. Waitrose invites you to taste new things and tell them what you think, and talk about what's going on in your kitchen. Join My Waitrose to receive FREE samples and vouchers from My Waitrose.

I'd been wondering how Waitrose came to send me a voucher for free Pasta and Sauce - I don't remember signing up on their site but I guess I must have done! Still, picked up my freebies at our local store - not tried them yet as been too busy eating all the reductions we treated ourselves to in their close to sell by date counter.

The pasta and sauce vouchers are now valid until 25th May 2009. So if you have missed the earlier date of 18th May, you can still go and get the pasta and sauce free with the voucher until 25th May.

Sadly I didnt get a voucher, think I need to sign up again.

But I did get one in a swap :thumb: so I went to Waitrose yesterday and on the fish counter they had run out. So we discussed when and if they might be back in again. I said I'd come from the other side of N especailly to collect it and she seemed to think this was the back end of no where (10 minites drive) :D so she had a brain wave and sealed up another trout for me at the same price!

Eldest child home this weekend and she had her trout last night, new pototes and salad ;)

got one of the trout vouchers a couple of days ago, and i am planning to visit waitrose on my way home tomorrow and get a nice treat for the kids for tea - trout is their favourite. Sadly, i don't think the free piece will cover tea for much more than a bit each for my little ones, so i may have to invest in another piece or two for me and OH.

that's a shame, would have got you the money off your shopping, i would have asked for 2.50 worth of the reduced ones

They didn't have it in my store but had reduced trout so i got 3 and he put a 2.50 sticker on it :D

I got my voucher the day before it expired, i did manage to use it but i did query it at the store. they said it depends on the postcode etc... i do think its silly though to send them late on especially if they arrive expired. Have to say, we didn't enjoy the fish and won't be buying that particular one.

I am trying to write a 30 Waitrose shopping list to use my Sun voucher and as many MOCs as possible. So far I have got

Little Yeos - 30p on the packaging
Prima baby magazine - to get some Little Yeos vouchers
Bahlsen biscuits - 50p MOCS
Green and Balcks ice cream , 2 for 5 - use the 50p MOCs from the chocolate

As you can see I am still far short of the 30 target - anyone any suggestions? I am trying not to resort to buying Nestle pic a pacs :) Someone said that waitrose does Barrs drinks so if mine does I will try some of those as well

mhoc
7th October 2009, 10:46
mhoc how many moc's do they take without buying product?

None usually but this does not stop me offering a pile of MOCs and living in hope. Maybe about one shop out of ten you get lucky and get some MOCs taken but I suppose this is still better than nothing.

So I first hand over a pile to see what happens and then when these are refused I say "but you can take these for items I have actually bought" and these get scanned.

This is why the 30 waitrose list has to be a precise work of art - actually has to be slightly over becuse of items not being stocked/out of stock.

mhoc
7th October 2009, 10:49
Just thought of one thing I can get from Waitrose.

Twinnings everyday tea is running another "try me free" offer and you can send the receipt for either size pack. The larger pack is over 4 at Waitrose so thats another good chunk of the 30.

You need the magazine page - I've seen it in Grazia last week - and your receipt

(Dont buy the Twinnings from Tesco or Sainsburys, you only get the actual price you paid back and its on offer in both -hope that makes sense)

Muller lights and corners are on 4 for 1 so if you have the MOC can use.

The Green & black chocolate is on 3 4 2 but in my store I coudl not see any with the MOC on for the ice cream

Also if you use scan and pay you get waitrose mag for free and there is one of the Everyday twinnings adverts in there.

Also I seem to think the 20p Muller MOCs 31/10 are for siz packs rather than individuall ones - anyone confirm this.

Good question, you would have though something would have come up like

Have to go back and examine the form

Just wondering that if we dont all rush out to collect ours until the weekend they might go out of stock and then we can have a free choice as we were offered with the telegraph truffles.

Also I have a Waitrose 5 wys 35 MOC to go with these.

Our Waitrose is opposite a homebase so I can also have a look to see if there are any Christmas leftovers in the sale.

If you go onto waitrosedeliver and put choclate in the search box and then click onto special offers in the left margin it gives you a list of special offer chocolates. I think I fancy the Duchy Choclate orange thins, just need toa dd another 50p to these.

They also have some Florianne chocolates for 5.20 in a triangle box, make a nice present so you would only need to add 1.21

I could be wrong but I wouldnt have thought they would offer an alternative as the point of the voucher is for you to try the product and then give feedback on My waitrose therefore this wouldnt help them.

Yes you often see them reduced in Sainsburys but on principal I never buy them or do nuts becuse of the high fat content. But as waitrose are giving them away thats OK!

I try to get my lads to eat properly in the morning, youngest is fine and always has a full breakfast and mostly does himself - cereal, toast or crumpets, fruit, yogurt, juice etc etc but the older one is very finicky. I make for him either scrambled eggs or prorridge ever morning so at least I know he has eaten something before setting off.

So my thought is that if I can do a crossant in the microwave at least it will be another 100 cals and he wont waste away before lunchtime :D

Picked my croissants up yesterday along with a few reduced items as you do. I got three packs of burgers reduced from 2.99 to 1.09 each in the 3 for 2 promotion where you get the cheapest item free and I've only just noticed that instead of them knocking 1.09 off they knocked off the original 2.99 - not bad 28p for three packs of burgers! Well pleased.

Also, cooked a piece of their stuffed rolled shoulder of pork that's on offer at the mo and that was delicious - and at 3.50 or so was ample for the three of us.

I'm having trouble imagining myself spending so much in one go in one shop. Might have to resort to Whisky's suggestion and buy some DVDs, but I just can't see using up all of these coupons.

My thoughts as well, not sure how we can prove it but it is beyond annoying. We live literally 10 mins from a major sorting office but because we live off the main road our route has always been a difficult one for the PO. For a time we even had a postman with a van

Just got the same - are they having a laugh:eek: don't think I have ever spent that much in one shopping trip. They have gone from tempting us with freebies to this! I don't think I will be taking them up on this, can't even spend in Mr T anymore.

Hi,
Has anyone received any free samples recently?
Last one i got was ages ago,- around February i think!
It was for the new range,- think it was called eating in range or restaurant range, and it was for moussaka.
Thought there would have been something else by now!:(
