Hi

Re Marked down items - I think it depends on the sell by date on the item.

The ones I bought today have got a sell by date for the 23rd so I wouldn't have thought they would reduce them on Monday.

I have also gone in after a Monday and seen items reduced. Probably depends on your store.

19th June 2009, 17:07
Hello, can anyone that has bought reduced items after the ?10 deal let me know when they have gone in on the Monday? Was it morning or evening or lunch? Thanks
I know it depends on the shop but I would like to know if there is a trend, eg whether mostly it is reduced first thing in the morning or early evening

Thanks

Triker
19th June 2009, 17:35
My local usually puts the reductions out at 4.30pm sometimes they stagger it as well by putting out a few things at a time, like reduced bread first, the veg, etc. Other stores may be different though.

I do SWYM!!!

I have to literally beat the old ladies out of the way to get to the fridges in any of our stores even though they are well stocked - even had one woman trying to climb in from behind over the pushchair to be in:rolleyes:

I asked her if she behaved so eagerly during wartime rationing but got no response except a giggle from an old man standing at the back!!!!!

That made me giggle as it reminded me of when I lived in Japan. When waiting for a train, you always had to be wary of the little bent-over old ladies. When the train doors opened, no matter where they had been standing in the 'queue' they would be first to the spare seat!

Last time we were away for the weekend so we took two of the Marks deals with us, two chickens, two lots of profiterols etc and there was masses of food for all 4 of us plus left overs. The chicken in a bag was good, not sure about the oven in this flat but it saved so much oven scrubbing afterwards and no need to worry about basting or drying out etc. Its supposed to cook in half an hour but we ignored this and just left it cook in the normal time :)

Yes we went up on the Sunday and the 1st plan was to eat out but as both girls were working on Sunday and probally tired out we thought it would be much simpler for us to buy the Marks roast and take it with us. Then the chicken could go in the oven with no fuss and the girls could unwind and shower etc. It worked really well, the flatmate got some home grown veg and did these to go with it and it was a really nice stress free meal. We had to go to Marks early on Saturday morning - never anything left by Sunday around here and then took the chickens, profiterols etc in the cool bag

Also wondering about the wine list

Pinot Grigio
Los Nucos Chardonnay
Los Nucos Cabernet Sauvignon
Rose Chardonnay Frizzante
Piedmont Chardonnay
Piedmont Barbera
Gaston de Veau Merlot
Gaston de Veau Chardonnay

I think there is 20% off French wine and some of these sound like thye could be French. Also the Pinot Grigio I think was on 3 for ?10 on Sunday - wonder if its the same one, if the offer is still?

Yes they are, look lovely.
I didn't look closely at the wines just grabbed some reds as I was on the school run, but the last 4 definitely sound French.
There is also a good 3 for ?5 deal on with lots of different items such as pizza, lemon meringue pie, trifle, lasagne and more I can't remember.

If they were, they would work together, since the 25% off offer worked together, but would have thought it unlikely they'd select 3 for ?10 wine on this. Would like to be wrong!

Anyone know when the next m+s 2 dine for ?10 is please?
Going to try and get there tomorrow depending on the weather, and will make a special effort if i know it's on! Got one of the ?5 off when you spend ?25 .
Lots of offers on in marks at the moment, and the 2 for 10 combined with these would be a great way to use this moc.
Also, got the telegraph today for the Waitrose offer. Gonna have to make a bit of space in my freezer for all this yummy food lol.
Love both waitrose and m+s grub but dont go very often. Tend to
do my weekly shop most times at tesco's.
Speaking of which,- just got back from my local. The shelves very practically empty. People are going a bit crazy panic buying.
Mind you if this weather continues, i might start bulk buying myself..

Used my 5 off 25 today. The 3 for 10 is a great deal!
Got steak chicken and fish. Also 3 for 10 on other stuff,- so I bought the yummy melting middle fishcakes, 2 lots of salmon ones and 1 smoked haddock, for ?10.
Then, they had a pasta meal deal on for a fiver,- linguine, 2 ciabbata rolls, and a choice of pasta sauce.
That was my ?25 spent! Also bought a few extra bits. Some really yummy food there at the moment.
Got another 3 of these vouchers. Will have to restrain myself from using all three.
Also got the Waitrose ?10 off wys ?50.
Despite trying to build my points up for the next Feb mailing, MR T might not see me for a few weeks!

I too have been to use up my first vouchers.

2 x Chicken fillets in lime and two steaks.

Lots of 3 for 2 dishes - sausage and mash - easy meals when rushing out and steak etc in a Yorkshire pudding.

Frozen peas bogof and peas and swettcorn bogof.

Spent just under ?30 ?5 off and I have a credit voucher for around ?23 so a couple of pounds to spend.

I think the Marks meat offer is on until the end of January so by the weekend there should be a bit of space in the freezer so you can at least get two lots, six packs of meat for ?20 - I thought mine was full until I actually tidied it up and did a stock check.

The meat is much better quality than T anyway

As for T well I think there are only a couple of weeks to the end of this quater so what are you likely to spend - at most maybe another ?200 which is 400 points. Is this really going to make a huge difference to the points total?

I've not even got two thousand yet, maybe another 100 or so to go on. Thats how it is now - good times are over unless you can justify the cost phones for points or such like

Very true. I shall probably end up doing both. :o As you say by the end of the week I shall have some room in the freezer and I can feel a couple of Nokias winging their way towards me :o to bump up my totals before cut off.

Also have a 70 points on dolce gusto and a till spit moc to use so do need to go to T's as well. Hopefully a good quarter for me pointswise, although I just know there are going to be people out there with 50,000 :clap2: having gone phone, dongle and entertainment mad.:D which I just cant compete with.

Yes, quite surprised really. As soon as one lot of vouchers expire another lot arrive in the post. The Christmas ones were used up and then last week another set arrived with six extra points vouchers to be used over three weeks, one for food and drink and one for clothing and home - all with four times or three times the number of points. My 1st lot I used with the total spend ones.

I usually end up with about ?25 or ?30 reward vouchers at the end of each quater and this is a nice bonus. I've bought the 3 for ?10 offers on the meat in November and now and restocked the freezer. In February though I have ?50 in reward vouchers to come - not sure how that happened. I made sure I used all of the vouchers, did about ?50 in online orders but very little instore shopping so I dont think I spent more than normal.

By comparison over the same time period I've got not quite two thousand clubcard points, about ?40. In another 6 months or so I will have enough for a weekend away possibly.

I know which store I've enjoyed shopping in more

It's 25% off all wines too - wonder if they have put more expensive wines in this time to make it look the usual saving?

So if we get a couple of meal deals plus 4 bottles of wine do we get 25% off all the wine like before?
Also wondering if they have any multibuy wine offers that will glitch with the 25%?

I checked the fridges today for the 3 for ?10 meat offers, some new items this weekend. The packs of 20 sausages look like a good buy.

But the good news is that the Lime and corriander chicken is now back on the 3 for ?10 offer so a good time to restock. A good offer - I think if you were starting from scratch ?3.33 would not buy much chicken filletts and then you'd need to buy a lump of ginger, at least one lime and a pot of corriander etc

Ice Cream - Various Flavours 500ml

If it was any ice cream included in the dine for ?10 offer and they were all also under the two packs for ?5 offer, if you bought two "dine for ?10" offers the ice cream multi buy would take another ?2 odd off.

Anyone want to try this?

Also if you are buying say a couple of the meal deals it might be worth also adding some extra bottles of wine to make the total up to 12 so you can use one of the ?5 vouchers (not sure but sometimes these work with the cheaper Bucks fizz type of bottles and you would also get your 5% case discount)

The 4 packs of Belgian Beer are ?4.99 each or 3 for ?10. Therefore if you bought 3 of the ?10 deals each with the Beer as the drink, a ?4.97 discount should kick in, meaning 3 of the ?10 deals for ?25.03.

Ta for this.

Also Sainsburys have a ?10 menu at the moment, not as extensive as Marks though.

Plus the wine is on offer, buy 6 bottles get 25% off so if you have freezer room it might be worth buying 6 lots. I've not done the maths but I think the wine in the offer is something like ?8 or ?9

This is good. So you get 2 ice creams which were/are ?3.99 ???? and get another frozen thing, ideally something suitable for a meal for around the same price for free.

I've got some of my reward vouchers to use up so I am going to go for this. Also not used my 20% voucher yet.

Is the wine still on 25% off or have we missed this?

Ooh good spot Waterfall. Am a bit fed up with living on the leftovers from the sandwich van so will treat ourselves to two of these over the weekend.
