Hi,

Does anyone know if compost stores well if kept unopened in original plastic sack or does it lose its nutrients over time

I bought some container/basket compost earlier in the yaer during the hot spell with the good intention of planting up some baskets but never got around to it!

I won't be using it now this year so will it keep ok for next?

TIA

It'll be fine for next year . . .

Try not to keep in strong sunlight, and don't let it become waterlogged either

Or it can go mouldy before you use it. I put any end of season leftovers or bargain damaged bags (which can get all sorts of nasties crawl into them) under cover for the winter.
