To make it easier we've added a separate section for just Deals Information etc.

Hopefully this will make it easier to find the information that you require.

some of the threads may also have been merged if they were about similar subject - a Virgin sticky should appear in the near future

I'm still not getting how i do this. Lets pretend it's next January and i've got, say, £100 worth of tesco vouchers, how do i get them converted into Deals (should i do them all at once? or as i receive them?) and how do i then go about booking a holiday? Can't seem to find this information anywhere!!

Is there somewhere i could get a quote too, so i know how much it will definitely cost, and how much of the holiday we can get through the deals

Sorry if it's been asked before, thought i best use the stickies!

19th May 2007, 15:32
All the information re holidays is on the Tesco deal section of the website. Decide what you are saving for and work out approx how much it will cost by ringing the tour operator.
A quote online will not be true as you can't take advantage of discounts when using deals.
Once you know roughly how much your holiday is, wait until you are ready to book or have enough vouchers.
Divide your holiday cost by 4 and this will tell you roughly how many vouchers you will need
When you are ready to convert them into deals you can either exchange online or by post

sancho

Thanks, who do i then send the deal vouchers to?

Eccle

This link explains how to order http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/p.aspx?id=howtoorder

Also, if you're interested in holidays then have a look here http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/browse.aspx?N=4294967232&bid=HHolidays This lists all the holiday companies currently available. The terms and conditions for each one regarding what they actually charge are in the pdfs under each one.

Thanks, i think i understand how to get them now, just not sure what to do with them then!!

I'm wanting to go to Florida i think, is there a best time to book it? would it be any cheaper to book in January say than March?

Eccle
19th May 2007, 16:42
I think the only company you can go to Florida with is Virgin, and for them you have to pay the full brochure price, not the price it will quote you online, so the sooner you book it the better to make sure you can get the dates you want. Might be worth ordering their brochure now so you know what you need to get points wise.

Once you've got the deals vouchers, you ring up a special number for Virgin to book the holiday, then need to send the vouchers to them within a few days.

I think the best thing you can do Sancho is to ring the travel company and ask them . . or actually have a look at their website and work out want you want to do first . . . . it's much better done that way round, than asking other PTS members to do it for you!

I only joined Tesco's yesturday. So very new, but his thread has anwsered most questions I have its really helpful!

1 thing i'm not so sure about is, can you use 2 bonus coupons ie 100x2 on 1 purchase ie huggies wipes?

Many thanks xx

Welcome to PTS, I expect your question and my answer will be moved elsewhere onto a thread but you can use 2 huggies vouchers on 1 item if the vouchers have got different barcodes on, or as they are on bogof you can use 2 with the same barcodes as the till will recognise that you've bought 2 :)

Hope one of you lovely people can help me!!!
Just about to convert my deals online but having never done this before i have a couple of questions.
I have over £400 of vouchers that i want to convert to deals to use with XL.COM these are spread over 3 accounts all with the same surname and one account is a Tesco credit card account. My guess is that i need to log into all accounts seperately to convert each of the vouchers on that account.
Is this correct?
Also how do i get to the Tesco credit card account as i have never used this as an online account before?
Two of the vouchers have different numbers and i'm guessing that one is on the old credit card number before it expired.
I'm a bit confused?!?!?!

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
Sorry if what i'm about to ask sounds a bit dense,
i'm a bit confused.I have 4 accounts:1 in my name,
1 in hubbies name, both of these have plastic c/c's.
Then 2 other online accounts. How do i get the deals in my
hand? I'm new to this so in the past when i recieved vouchers
in the post i'd just use them as money off my shopping, but now i
obviously need to save these.I've trawled through a lot of threads
but can't quite seem to get the answer i need.
Again i apologize for sounding a bit dim.

Another dim question.

I have £39.50 in clubcard vouchers and am just about to convert them to XL. deals... when I go to "buy" them on Tescos website, it only lets me select £38.75. What happens with the odd few quid? Does it get credited back to my account or do I just lose that odd bit?

Thank you.

Colinzy, just log in to your account online and go to Clubcard Deals, choose the deal you want and click on more, then you just convert however many vouchers you wish to use. Anything you don't need is put back on to your account as points, i.e. if you want to convert £7.50 to deals but only have a £10 voucher then the £2.50 goes back to the account.

DH and I used to stay a couple of times every year courtsey of Mr T, Its not bad for a London hotel, we loved it because it is just across the road from Hyde Park, on the central line so easy to get around, I think we used Lancaster gate and just a couple of minutes walk to the Hotel, it is also walking distance to Nottinghill Market (Saturday) and on Sunday there is a large display of paintings which you can buy or just browse that starts just outside the hotel and continue down the Bayswater Road. Hope that helps, I am sure you will have a fab time, so much to see and do.:)

Just a quick question.

I want to convert some of my vouchers, to use at Folly Farm in S Wales.

I have checked their website - and for 2 adults and 1 child it will be nearly £20.

If I order £15 worth of voucher - can I pay the balance in cash? or do I have to pay the full amount in vouchers?

We want to go to Tenerife in june 2008. It's with Cosmos (Checked on XL but no luck).

My clubcard deals vouchers that come with the mailing are sitting upstairs safely.

At what point do i convert them to deals tokens?

Should i save them all up & do it at the last minute when i have enough to book?

Or should i do them in *lots* of about £100 as we go along?

Bear in mind the Deals tokens are only valid for 6 months so if you get them now you may have to muck around changing them back again later. If your Clubcard vouchers are nearly expired then I think others here say they will put the points back on your account if you ask. It depends when you are planning to book the holiday really.

I wouldn't worry too much about how many at a time, but if it was me I wouldn't want to send more than a couple of hundred pounds worth at a time, just in case of them going missing and all the hassle you have then to sort that out.

I'd probably send them your CC vouchers to change for Deals vouchers in batches of £200 or so starting no more than 5-6 and no less than 1 months before you intend to book.

No you don't get the incentive offers/freebies or discounts - you pay the standard subscription price. Obviously you are getting 75% off that though effectively.

oooo. Didn't realise the deals tokens have such a short date. Clubcard vouchers, i think the earliest one expires aug 2008 and i want to go in June :)

I was going to book around feb 2008 time,so might be best to change them up in late january after the christmas post is out the way

Thanks Dom...

I think I'll pay the full price then (£19.99 at the mo in the Mag) as I not only get the products, but the £6-odd in tokens would be £24 off my holiday next year (which is what we are really saving for), so would end up being an extra £20-odd pounds to add from my money instead.

I suppose because I'm (normally) saving them for something big (i.e £7-800 deals needed) that I don't think I'll reach anyway, I figure it won't make much difference in the long run. But if I don't get the incentive, I'llgo through the mag.

Thanks again, tried to rep you but I've already done it recently so it wouldn't let me, sorry. Please take this a a rep? :)

Hi Patty,
It would be worth checking out XL nearer the time, we went to Tenerife with them in June this year, at the moment there's not a lot of choice of hotels for June 08 on the website I assume they add more nearer the time and the moment the only brochure available for download is Summer 2007.
The hotel we stayed in and travel from Bristol our local airport was over £ 400 cheaper with XL than the same hotel flying from Luton with Cosmos.

Can I ask... when exchanging large amounts of points into deals tokens is there a number you should ideally 'exchange' in one go. Ie if you have hundreds of pounds worth for a holiday should you do a hundred pounds worth ( £25 of clubcard coupons) at a time? Esp if youve been taking advantage of lots of 1000 points free when you spend Y amount accross yours and your husbands accounts...
Or doesnt it matter?
Reading a thread about someone getting banned from the scheme made me worry!

Hi everyone, i have been loitering on PTS for a while now, collecting extra clubcard points with all your helpful hints and tips - BF and i are hoping to save for a holiday.

Now i have a deals question that i was hoping someone can help with?
We both have a clubcard account - one in his name and one in mine, he collects points but the vast majority are on my card. We also have a clubcard credit card regsitered in my name and to my clubcard but with an additional CC in his name.

My question is that when we have finally collected enough points for the hol will we be able to transfer all of the vouchers - those in his name and those in mine? Obviously we have different surnames so now i am worried that they will not honour all of the vouchers for one deal?

I hope that makes sense and all our point saving has not been in vain!! Thanks for alll your help, any advice would be gratefully received.

:)

Hi Omega, your suggestion will give you a very good idea of the deals needed.

You could, of course, always give the Virgin Girls a call . . but read the following thread first - you'll find it extremely useful!!!!

BOOKING WITH SIBLU.
Sorry to be a pain but I thought that if I made a booking now and paid the deposit with cash,I would be able to save the cc vouchers up in order to pay for the balance with deals a few weeks before we go. Have I got it horribly wrong????

So Sorry this isnt possible all cc vouchers have to be in your hand at the time of booking :fear:

Hi, I would like to order deals soon for Cosmos. The problem I have is my main account my surname is spelt wrong it has an e on the end and shouldn't have. I have been online ages ago and amended my details but my clubcard vouchers are still coming through with misspelt name. What would be the best way of getting round this without contacting CS. I do have other accounts with it spelt correctly should I use these accounts to convert them or would that draw attention to me.

Thanks

I want to order a mag subscription for £9 but the smallest voucher I have is £18.50. How do I do this? I don't want to waste it as I'm saving towards a few days out in March too.

Dominic
5th November 2007, 13:22
Use it and they credit the change back to you for your next statement in February. It will appear around the end of the quarter before they zero again. Done it myself.

Can I use it for two by ordering together, or do I have to do it all separately? First timer I'm afraid.

Dominic
5th November 2007, 13:26
With mag subscriptions you order the subscriptions you want, they send a voucher and you send that off with your order (IIRC) to the supplier so you should be able to order two at a time.

Mixed up clubcards

I changed my clubcard nos to use some temp cards as I did not have a plastic card to collect H&B.

I now have vouchers in the same name but from 2 different clubcards , I know before you could just put them through any account but I wondered if the advice has changed as when you go to order now it says you can only use vouchers linked to the clubcard account.

I have searched but having a wee panic now as obviously i don't want to lose them as have just booked my hols.

thanks for your help

If I ordered a shed load now, then waited for Feb mailing and then convert those, would the ones I order now still be valid?

I wonder if anybody can help. I am relatively newish to the tesco thingy and enjoying getting points and benefitting from the moc's advise on here. I have recieved my clubcard mailing and for the first time have accumulated £95.00 and am delighted which equates to nearly £400 in deals. The last quarter I also got a sizeable amount but not as much. I am looking to put it towards a family holiday or weekend break etc. Has anybody exchanged their deals for Airmiles and if so is it better value to do this than going down the route of XL holidays or virgin? Any help would be appreciated

Is there a list somewhere, like that on the online codes, that tells you which deals come with a name on them & are therefore non transferable?

I'm trying really hard to increase my points for deals, but will more than likely have to add funds . So may end up buying from ebay but don't know which ones are non transferrable.

If there isn't something already, would this be a good idea to start?

Hello all,

I've lurked here for a while, but now found the courage to post. You all seem a lovely community. :)

I have just over £ 100 worth of clubcard points in my account. (Thank You J&J!!) If I understand correctly, this is convertibleto £ 400 of Goldsmith vouchers using Deals.

My Clubcrad account is set to "automatic transfer" to British airways at the end of each quarter. So I never get paper vouchers. So if I have say £100 worth today, they will only go to BA in February. So can I go online before that happens and still redeem my £ 100 vouchers for Goldsmiths say this week?

Thank You.

s coded deals can be used on any deal that does not have the buy in full logo next to it
you can use them in
goldsmiths
restaurants
days out
Johnsons cleaners
plus many more
Take a look in the deals brochure or on the Tesco website :)

The vouchers will need to be sent to her address when converted to deals, but with the same surname you can use them for holidays etc - only a problem if the surname isn't someone who's travelling.

Hi Giz

don't you have to pay for deposits though if you aren't paying the whole amount in deals? There are five of us planning a holiday, but I am paying for just my three, so if I have enough outright for my three in cc vouchers, will we still be expected to pay 5 lots of deposit up front when we book because we haven't got enough to pay outright in cc vouchers? Hope that makes sense... I know what I mean but I am struggling to put it into words!

As long as you are registered at the same address, you can order the vouchers through just one of the accounts, and then the deals vouchers will just come with that surname on.

Welcome to PTS
Times your points by 4

100 points = £1 x 4 = £4
1000 points = £10 x 4 = £40

I've read that this has caused problems for others, so may be best to convert them on a/c that they've been sent to, to avoid letters from Clubcard.

Hi
Am about to convert vouchers into Virgin deals

We have one account in my name (original card dating back to year dot with majority of points on. One in DH name (same surname, not so many point) and a credit card with alot of points on also.
The credit card is in joint names but not registered online as I wished to keep 2 separate accounts.
My question is how do I convert the credit card points? Do I register it online, or can I log into one of our accounts and order through it?

I am also waiting for about £400 of voucher in the Feb statement. Shall i do some now? And if I do should i get them convert of just one account on each address, so I get 2 lots in the post or should I get them done on the account they were received on.

Hi all, no doubt been asked a thousand times before, but just want to clarify.

I've got vouchers to change into Motorpoint vouchers, all on one account. As they are greater than £500, should I do them all at once, or £500 worth an hour/a day? Have read aboout security limits, etc. Hoping to pick the car up at the beginning of next week, so don't really want any hold ups. Was going to do them by internet rather than post. Not got anything to hide, all genuinely earned!

Seems the max you can exchange at once using the internet is £998.75 so is this ok to go up to this?

Cheers all.

Hi everybody.
I am wanting to book a holiday with cosmos for me, hubby & DD plus my parents. My parents have a different surname to me, hubby & DD.

I have approx £1680 in deals and my parents have approx £200 in deals and the cost of the holiday comes to approx £2500. As it will be one holiday booking but with 2 different surnames but one of the surnames only has a small amount of deals, does it matter? IFYSWIM..........

will cosmos only acccept, in deals vouchers, with my surname on, the equivelant to the cost of the holiday i.e. £1400? and then accept my parents approx £200 in deals vouchers and then want the rest in cash or can i, in effect, pay some towards my parents cost of the holiday with deals with my name on?

Does anybody understand what I am asking? ? ? I have totally confused myself now!

Thanks in advance :)

Regarding the next mailing and names being specified on all deal vouchers issued, does anyone know if it will include the initial? Or is it a case of wait and see, in which case I'm not going to use my dogs and cats to collect points leading up to the new system being implemented.

With Virgin you have to book accommodation for the whole of your stay, but people book the cheapest hotel available and then don't use it. If you go with Cosmos you can book a Flydrive and not book any accommodation. HTH

Hi guys I was hoping that someone may be able to help me and I hope that you understand my question.
I have a clubcard mailing for £42 and I would like to order some more eating out vouchers with it but do not want the whole £160 in deals. Can I order say half of it in eating out vouchers and then use the other half on something else with out it being credited back to my account? How does that work? Thanks guys x

What is the breakdown of your CC vouchers. Have you just got one voucher for £42? If you have then you can order how many Deals you want but the balance will be credited to your account for next quarters mailing. If it is spread over a few vouchers just use the vouchers to the value you want to spend. IYSWIM

I think you will have the remainder credited bcak to your account. That's what has happened to mine before. However you can use your vouchers on any other
deal that doesn't have the ‘Buy in Full’ logo next to it in the brochure, but cannot be used for Goldsmith, Motorpoint, Hotels or Holidays.

So have a look at what else you may use them on and order away!:D

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for change from Deal vouchers take to be recredited back into your account to use for other vouchers.
I have just had to use a £46.00 voucher as part of a cosmos deal and i had £8.50 in change to be given back to my account.

Also what happens when you pay for a holiday with deal vouchers and the face value of the deals are more than the price of the holiday, how do they credit you money back??

All help really appreciated as first time deal user here (as you can see)...

Not the same but when we went to London, a Novohotel with deals, the ammount we had in deals was an overpayment of about £4 so we had a newspaper each morning. But afterwards we wondered if there was an overpayment of say £20 we could have set this against drinks in the bar or an evening meal at the bar maybe or anything else charged to the room?

The change will go back on towards the end of the current quarter - so around end July.

Unfortunately you dont get any change from deals! For example, if holiday costs £550 and you pay with £600 worth of deals vouchers, then you've lost the £50.

if the deals vouchers youve got exceed the cost of the holiday and you send them to the holiday company, you wont get anything back.

if you send them back to tesco, they just put the points back onto your account

usually, with hotel stays, they only accept deals for the cost of the room and not any extras. i've tried to pay with deals for extras at the marriott a few times and they wont accept them.

That is correct Spraggzy, you can use them on multiple things, ie £10 for mag, £10 for meals, £20 days out, all from the same voucher!
Any change will be credited back to your account.
You must use the whole voucher in one go or it will be credited back to you!

I ordered some Cosmos on Wednesday last week and still no sign of them. Thought I would get them Sat or Mon as previous orders had turned up quite quick.

My vouchers turned up and ive just been on phone to Cosmos.

Now im totally confused, thought I would have to pay full brochure price and give numbers on all deals vouchers.

Instead she gave me the early booking discount (im booking for April next year), and took £200 which she assured me will be refunded once full payment in vouchers are recieved is this correct???

Dont want to lose £200 in cash when I have more than enough deals vouchers to cover the cost.

Will my son (same address and surname but a different initial) have any problems using clubcard deals ordered by me for entrance to sites and restaurants for himself and his girlfriend?

I don't know if the clubcard deals have just surnames.

Will he need to have my clubcard with him? He would expect to pay cash for any amount not covered by the deal vouchers?

Hi
Could someone please tell me if you think it would be okay to return some merlin passes that were ordered on my husbands virtual account, but the vouchers came from his shop clubcard?

They are the old tussurds passes,we have 3.
So my idea was to send all 3 back and ask them to send out 3 new ones if i include the extra vouchers to cover the increase in price, but i would need to send 11.25 but only have 17.50 so some would have to be credited.

This is where the problem comes in as im not sure which account they would credit.
I hope this makes sense.

Hi Charlie, I've used the Double Up Vouchers (DUV) a few months back on a wine order and still managed to use a couple of wine codes too. I did really well in the end, spent about £2 in cash, used £100 in Double Up Vouchers and got 2500 points too :clap2: This was a couple of months ago, so I don't know if they have changed things since then.

It did state on the vouchers that you couldn't use the DUV in conjunction with any other offer (XX codes etc), but they went through no problems when I ordered.

If you look on Virgin website and price up the holiday that you want to. make sure that you don't include any discounts as these won't be allowed when using deals.

then say it is £3000 divide by 4 (how many deals) = £750 deal x 100(how many points) = 75000 points

hi everyone,

i have been a lurker for a while, and have saved a fortune thanks to the coupon thread- my oh thinks its hilarious when i come home with 30quid worth of shopping for a tenner (he still wont come with me though lol)

having looked round the board and discovered the clubcard deals that you all seem to love i have decided that i will try and get enough points to book a holiday next year. as i am a total newbie to clubcard (never used tesco till a couple of months ago) i am unsure how it all works.

when i get my vouchers in my statement do i keep hold of them till i am ready to convert them to holiday vouchers?
if and when i manage to get a lot of points (have joined all the clubs and am waiting on mailouts with extra point vouchers etc) do i have to do it all online or can i book a hol via a travel agent- i dont have a credit or debit card and if i have to pay any extra it would be hard to do online
also, is it worth getting a clubcard in my oh name and joining all the clubs for him as well to get more point vouchers?

thank you for bearing with me!

Wait until next 1/4 and use them wit that mailing. That way you can use them. I had to do that when i opened some new accounts.

Thankyou, i called them up and they can only do the Mercure London City Bankside on the Fri/Sat and in 2 rooms (as only 3 per room) so £540 in deals.....but for the Thursday night it would be £190 a room (£380 cash:eek:). So i'll just stay in the premier inn or such like on the thurs as 4 of us could be in 1 room and leave bags at Waterloo left luggage en route to the boys clinic then check in teatime at the Mercure. Bit of a hassle but still a good saving for me.

Just booked it, didn't realise i had to take deals with me:o, had them all sorted into piles ready for the drudge through all the numbers. Had to secure through a CC as i'm arriving after 2p.m.

Has anyone been to the Mercure? We are getting breakfast and i just wondered what sort of things was on the breakfast menu as my youngest DS has an eating disorder, it's just so as i know whether to bring a different breakfast with me.

Hi Jemima, I am so bad I stayed there and should have done a review.... naughty polo.

Breakfast was fab! They had a hot breakfast - scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, hash browns, tomatos. Or a cold breakfast (but you could have both).... from memory the cold buffet included : cereals, yogs, mixed fresh fruit, rolls, cold meats, croissants, jams, bread. There was a lot of choice I remember! Also they did toast and hot drinks fresh as you arrived, everything else you served yourself.

Was a little disappointed in the room, a little small, but clean and welcoming, we stayed two nights and I would have been disappointed in cash, but for free it was good!
Breakkie kept us going all day so saved money by not having to buy lunch!

Hope this helps!

I would think so, as I have used days out vouchers in Bella italia, and vice versa - best way to make sure is to go onto Tesco website and then to the cc deal that you ordered, and on the info part there will be an option 'where else can i use this token?' usually, deals that are not 'buy in full' can be used for other deals that aren't, iyswim? hth ;)

I have £600 worth of cosmos deals that expire the end of Sept.

If I cant use them before then, can I call them to get them reissued with another 6 months on them or do they have to be recredited as points on my account again??

If I have to have them recredited as points do I need to do this before they expire or can I still send them back after they have run out?

Hope that makes sense? :der:

I was hoping to book a hol this autumn, but not sure if I can now?:(

Thanks,
Mm x
