I love faggots and mushy pies, one of my favourite meals, but noone else in the house will join me. :(

Today I got some of the Birds Eye Steam Fresh range 2 for 2.00, I'm certain they're usually more than that for 1.
They only had the on variety - Penne Pasta with Chicken, peppers and green beans in tom and Basil sauce, but me and OH like it, having it tonight in fact. :)

Admirals pie 75p (1.09 in Tesco)
Clover lighter 59p (1.49 in Tesco)
Did my first Farmfoods shop, not because I am boycotting tesco but because I wanted to shop somewhere different

Even though certain items were cheaper some were more expensive

Extra chewing gum 1.25 (1.20 in Tesco)
16 frozen sausages 2 (20 for 1.34 in Tesco)
750g peas 1 (900g for 87p in Tesco)

If I did the exact shop in Tesco there would only be a few pence difference

I was just coming on to post this, when I saw Sam had done it ages ago. But it's so good I think it deserves a bump

Hovis soft bread is usually over 1, but is on offer at Mr T for 3 for 3 (not much of an offer). In Farmfoods it's only 50p.

The milk is 75p for 2 litres, and it's proper blue-top-full-fat milk too.

did a larger than normal shop in farmfoods today, normally just get the milk and bread (such brilliant prices) and my shopping came to 51 odd. I didnt have any vouchers with me and the till lad happily just took off the farmfood voucher value 5 and marked his bit of receipt with a pen. Blimey, imagine Tescos doing that?

I was very grateful and said so!

They've also got the blue dragon dipping sauce for 1 and there's a printable kicking around I think.

Please tell me these aren't like those weird dormouse lollies that Heston Blumenthal featured on his show awhile back. Couldn't believe he was allowed to make them, even with imported dormice. I thought they were a protected species?

Farmfoods has great offers on at the mo on J2O drinks!!

Couldn't believe my eyes when I went to my local store (only went to top up the 24 cans of diet coke for 5.99 which is long term offer).

They were selling 6 bottles of the orange/mango J20s for 2.50 :clap2:. Not sure if they also had the other varieties or not as an empty pallet next to the half full one lol.

I bought 10 packs for 25 and used the 2.50 off moc so 60 bottles for 22.50 - can't complain at that!!

I got a pack of frozen mixed peppers on Saturday for 1, thought this was a good staple to have in the freezer. The mixed bags of peppers, even value ones seem to have gone so expensive now and rarely seem to get onto the reduced shelves.

I am thinking that quite often you see reduced cubed pork, chicken, turkey or pieces suitable for cutting up in the reduced fridge and these I get and freeze until I find reduced stir fry veg - you can then do stir fries, fjahitas, all sorts of things and having frozen peppers to add makes a big difference

I know what you mean, we go through tons of peppers a week and the prices have gone up rapidly in the last year. My OH and youngest really love them, my youngest eats them cut up uncooked all the time and they are forever sticking them on the George Foreman as a little snack, this is on top of all the ones we use cooking.
I'm definately going to pick up a bag or two next time I go into Farmfoods.:D

Farm Foods have the Matthew Walker 454g Christmas Puddings for 1. Normal price 4.99 but half price in Sainsburys at the moment. We did try one a couple of weeks ago and we thought it was very good.

McLelland seriously strong cheddar for 1.50 for 300g packs - looks like this but bigger pack (says 2 on the wrapper) - mine expires March 11st - might be worth getting a few extra for freezing.

Works out at 5 per kg (if my maths is right- I think this is a better way of figuring out cheese prices for comparisons)

Thought I'd bump this up for all those that are now budgeting hard with the demise of the coupon.

I've become a farmfoods convert after reading about a mum on netmums who feeds her family of 7 for 50 a week.

First went in summer hols & we were like kids in a sweetshop, been back today & my freezer is bursting. Got 1kg bags of chicken 4.95 each or 2 for 8, Gammon steaks (18 altogether) 3 bags for 10, milk at 2 for 1.80, hovis bread 3 for 2. Fish steaks in batter can't remember the brand but a good one, 4 for 3 but 100% free so 8 fish fillets for 3.

They were also Soooo helpful, I gave away some of my coupons to other shoppers cos they expire 30th Sept and the till guy told me they will still take them even if they have expired , he also said if you forget your coupons, when you come in next bring your coupons and receipt and they will refund you - can you imagine Tesco's doing that?!! Then he very kindly carried all my bagsto the car for me.

Super service & lots of food for 62

Fish steaks in batter can't remember the brand but a good one, 4 for 3 but 100% free so 8 fish fillets for 3.

Young's, I think.
And the pizzas are something like 5 for 4 - not gourmet but my granddaughters blind-tested them as better than
Chicago Town and Goodfellas but behind Dr Oetker.
Their 2 x 9 of toilet rolls for 4 are quite acceptable too (especially if your usual is a "value" brand).
Their rindless back bacon is a bargain - 600g for 2.50, or 3 for 5.
Pepsi is 2 x 2l for 1.70.

It's a brilliant shop, I go once a fortnight to get enough stuff to last.

Thanks salsa for the milk price. Thought it was still a pound. Not seen this on any of the other forums so useful. I know it's only 10p but times are hard especially if you get through a few a week like I do!
