Well done Scrumpy and Don. Not visited this thread for a few days as been naughty this week. I blame it on stress at work, plus got a schools appeal today which has also been on my mind a bit.

Anyway, lost the plot a little (ok, well a lot actually!) but aiming to get back on track after today (is the appeal today).

Well done Gillian.

Dreading my weigh in tomorrow, think I've only been good about 3 days this week, plus am due on at the weekend, so really not a good conbination. Oh well, back on it today, made veggie shepherds pie for tea, and there should be enough leftovers to take to work tomorrow as well.

Had slimming world chips for lunch, not had them for ages. Unfortunately I had boiled the spuds for too long, so half he pan were too crumbly and ended up being wasted. The ones I did rescue and cook were lush though!

I know where you are coming from re the chips!!! They don't need to be boiled for long at all!

I seem to be struggling this week, have a massively bloated tummy (and it's like I'm pregnant) don't know why I'm bloated as its not totm::noidea:

WTG Floosy and Gillian.

Think light thoughts tomorrow LS.

I have started to plan my food the day before and will start working towards a meal plan for the week as soon as I am settled. I really don't have much hope for my 1st week, but high hopes for my 2nd if I can follow the plan. Just have to be good for a BBQ on Saturday, think it's best I do a Red Day on that one :)

I didn't go to wi tonight, oh had to work late and i couldn't take the kiddies as i'd arranged to go to a gym induction afterwards. I couldn't get their dinner, get them showered etc before it was time for wi. I feel that i've probably stayed the same this week as i haven't been bad but not exactly good either. What I mean is, are you JUST going to do that this week for your desired outcome? It's an extremely low amount of calories, we need more than a 1000 to perform normaly in a day.

1lb on for me today. not surprised as I've had a grotty week with DH being poorly, so I never knew what he was going to want to eat or when.

Well done all you losers - I'll be joining you next week! You know what you haven't stuck to plan, so hopefully this week you'll be back to it with bells on!

I didn't go to wi tonight, is there another class you could go to this week? oh had to work late and i couldn't take the kiddies as i'd arranged to go to a gym induction afterwards. same here scrumpy, didnt make WI
really struggle at the weekend, Go Flexable, and just realise that you wont have the same effect if you don't make sensible choices, better to know and plan, rather than to still expect a loss, then be dissapointed then blow it! lol i can do ok in the week.
i've slid up on the wine and although i eat sensibly what i cook is less slimming. dodnt have the dsd's this weekend coming so will have to see if that helps
need to get back to swimming but really busy with work,,,,,,,,,, sigh, it's all excuses really Come on, do it for you? Remember why you wanted to do it in the first place, promise yourself that you will give it 100% this week, then come back and WOW us!

Can you tell I'm practising? lol Off to 2 other classes today/tonight, to see how they do it..... I already know that my consultant doesn't seem to do it properly, hope to pick up a few hints and tips. Then off to Head Office tomorrow for my training.

Have a great few days everyone, good luck WI'ers and those who are going to go to another class.

Freebird
14th October 2009, 08:37
I'll tell you what Dee, you're far more motivating and encouraging than my consultant ever was. She's all over you the first week or two and then you can't get a split second of her attention or an answer to a question - I get them answered here! It's one of the reasons I quit because I felt she just assumed I'd always be there and didn't need to offer me any help.

Also, our entire classes were taken up by going through every persons loss/gain for the week and clapping them two/three times (drove me mad :D). There were never any interesting tips or stuff shared and never any mention of exercise unless she was asking for volunteers to deliver her advertising leaflets.

I think you'll make a brill consultant!! :D

P.S. Counted up the money in Daisy (my cute piggybank) that I've been putting in on WI day since I quit (£5 a week) and which is going towards a new wardrobe in the January sales........I already have £80! :clap2:

Can you imagine, pie eyed consultant ....Karaoke style announcements, inuendo at ever opportunity, and a fag hanging out of the side of your mouth.... oooo what a sketch on telly that would be!

Forgive me sisters for I have sinned!

I've not weighed in since 31st January 2009!

I'm now ready to face my punishment after weighing in on Saturday and finding out I've put on a whopping 5.6lbs!!!!!! since my last weigh in.

I hereby declare that I'm now going to weigh in religiously every Saturday morning on my own in the comfort of my own home "butt naked" and follow the slimming world plan!

Feel free to kick my bum as I obviously deserve it!

Can someone please add me to the weigh in list before I change my mind!!!

:clap2:

Had to comment on freebirds post. I agree that you are far more helpfull than my consultant. You'll do well Deedee.

My one is so funny, it's worth £4.50 for the entertainment factor alone. She looks and sounds just like the 'Little Britain' character Marjorie of the fat fighters club.

No word of a lie :D. Shes slightly deaf too bless her so if she asks you whether you've done red or green and you say red, she'll say the opposite lol. I must add she's lovely though. If you go to a conference with all the countrys slimming world consultants Deedee you will know who i'm talking about!

scrumpyjane
14th October 2009, 18:56
At our club Deedee, wi starts at 6 and the session finishes at 7.

Our consultant sits at a table near the entrance to welcome and tell the newbies all the info. She does this until approx 6.40 every week and we all just sit around chatting, then it's the reading out losses and clapping, maybe a mention of something then the raffle.

Lots of us have said we would prefer it if she did the info talk etc after class. Do you have to follow a set practice or can you run your class as you see fit?

Is that Doable Vikki? What I mean is, are you JUST going to do that this week for your desired outcome? It's an extremely low amount of calories, we need more than a 1000 to perform normaly in a day.

Dee you are so motivational! Thanks!!! I should explain though that the 810 plan is a specific Cambridge plan and is completely safe - it is fully nutritionally balanced so don't worry - I'm not going on a starvation doings! I like me food too much :tongue1:

The other Hartleys jelly i had was in one of the SW mags as1/2 a syn per pot, and that one is

Now i suspect the first one with 98 calories has a little more than 1/2 a syn per pot.

Morning all, I'm back from HO, will catch up on everyone later, just wanted to pop in and say Hi!

The one thing that I will say is.... lol (omg I am already margorie doors)

If you follow the plan 100% you WILL lose weight, the most common reasons for no weight loss are;

Forgetting Syns (hiding Syns)
Not measuring HE's
ooo and not checking Syn values before consumption!!

Sitting there as a member who has said, loads of times, to class "I have done plan 100%" I had to admit to myself that I was fibbing at those times....

They are BIG, BIG, BIG on admitting the truth there, and allowing yourself the Syns, as long as you can stay in control. If you know you are going to blow out, plan for it, then you won't feel the need to carry on ruining it/hiding it/not following plan.

So from this day forward, if I know I want MORE SYNS, I will give myself extra syns, keep counting, stay on plan, but with those extras.
Then I wont feel like I have to hide anything, I will know why I havent lost/sts/gained.

****Raises Hand and says "AYE":clap2::clap2:

While I remember, anyone needing baking sheets, Lidl are supposed to have them in store today for £1.99 each with up to 300 reuses. Very very handy for low fat cooking.

Or for baking cookies, which I'm right into at the moment!

Well done to all the losers.

It was DD2's 4th birthday yesterday and we had family round for a buffet lunch and tea. I made my SW pasta salad and SW chips, salad, cooked meats (and buns, cakes, biscuits, nuts etc). I was really good food-wise but in the evening I had a large bag of chocolate peanuts that OH's mum had brought for me and a bottle of wine. I also had 3 portions of sherry trifle that OH's granny had brought with her.

Damage limitation for me until WI on Wednesday. I was at the top end of my target last week and will no doubt have gained a couple of pounds this week so I will have to start paying again until I get back into target.:whip:

CW, think of it as "Me Time" a break from all you have to do, this is the one part of the week that you owe yourself, don't put yourself at the bottom of the list, commit yourself to YOU, if you are finding the drive tooo much, have a look at the "online group" i'm sure you'll be fine with it... have a look on the site. ♥

Thanks Dee. I've tried online diets before and got nowhere. I'll try and get an early night tonight and get to group tomorrow, but if I don't, it'll be the first one I've missed since early July, so I'm not doing too badly in terms of making time for it/me.

Wooopwooop - despite being a total pig on Sat/yesterday and scoffing a pack of Maryland choc chip + hazelnut cookies (what is it with not being able to stop at two??) AND a bottle of wine AND some toffee vodka, I've managed a 1lb loss. Rather pleased all things considered.

Will try harder this week...honest. Am behind on my holiday weight loss mission so time to get back on track. :boxing:

Huge well done Don & OH - you're both doing brilliantly - and also any other Losers this week! :clap2:

Well done Don and to your oh. You're doing brilliantly. Are you near you final target?

OH is.. but i set my selfelf a target of losing 6stone 13lbs to 7 stone6 lb.

So i need to lose 2 stone more to get to top range of target and 2 1/2 stone in total.
Not really sure when i will get there but i have been steadily losing about 1/2 stone a month approx.

Clothes become a problem especially when things dont fit for very long and i dont want to splash out much on clothes untill i get close to target.

Had great inspiration from this thread especailly hearing of peoples successes and struggles and good ideas for menus etc.

So big thanks to everyone.

Well done to all the losers, I have got the dreaded WI tomorrow night, am really hoping to hit my 1 stone award!
I have just made the cod mornay out of the recipe calendar that comes with the slimming world magazine, was quite nice actually, considering I have never eaten cod out of batter before (not a fish fan), not overly keen on spinach and don't really like cherry toms!!! But decided I was getting stuck in a rut eating the same foods everyday so thought I should try new things!
Does anyone have a link to some slimming world recipes, gone through most of the ones on the slimming world website!

I'm relieved you replied Don as i thought maybe i was being too nosey and you didn't want to say :o.

You are doing a great job and i don't doubt you will reach your target as you are getting close. I'm seriously impressed :)

I've often thought it would be a good idea if once a month, after a SW class, that people could bring in clothes they've grown out of and people swap, because it is a problem like you say not wanting to splash out on something you're not going to wear for long.

It's just a fluctuation, don't ruin the efforts you have made this week, by thinking "What's the point, I may as well pig out!" because if you have been following plan, it WILL show, you CAN NOT NOT lose weight if you 100% follow plan.

Success express:-
Have 3 meals a day - at each one fill 2/3 of plate with superfree foods - on other third choose foods that are free on green or original - (or both together )
Add 1 or 2 HE "a" choices & 2 "b" choices from red or green list.
Snack on superfree foods
Enjoy 5 - 15 syns as part of a meal or as treats.

yup, 2 thirds of your plate should be YELLOW page foods (Superfree) and a 3rd free, red/green, it doesnt mean the superfree spread really thinly across the plate and the red/green third piled hile like the Eifel Tower! lol

"Baby bottles" If Social Services were ever to call around my house on a Fri/SAt night, I may be locked away --- I measured out my gin into one again last night, 250ml - 10 x 25ml = 10 x 2.5 Syns, This way when I wake up in the morning I can see exactly how much I had last night.

So should be ok - put suffering badly with water ( & the other!) retention at the moment & tablets I am taking only seem to make the problem worse. :o

Cheese is my downfall. I try and restrict myself to 25g a day but its no good I adore extra mature cheese. Loads of packs in the freezer but in the fridge I have

Lake district
Pembrokeshire
Kerry Low
Tickler

It is all Mt Ts fault that I've been buying the correct cheese to use the MOCs up. Mr T has sabotaged my diet.

Mhoc...you can have 28g on SW.... :D

Deedee
27th October 2009, 13:52
and if you use the finest grater holes, it looks like LOADS, when in fact it's not! lol

And if you were to do a Green day, you could have 2 x A choice for cheese! of cheese from this list:
28g
Cheddar
Double Glo
Edam
Emmantal
Gouda
Gruyere
Parmesan socksick
Red leicester
42g
Feta
Mozzy
Reduced fat cheddar
Reduced fat cheshire....
And it doesn't stop there!! Oh No, you can really go for it on a GReen day and go for another 2 cheese choices on HE B!

the list is a bit longer for B choices, but you get what we are saying? You love the smelly stuff, go green! lol

I think that might be the answer, use the finer sized cheese grater and do the grating at breakfast when I am making breakfast, making sandwiches etc and more inclined to stick to the correct ammount.

The trouble with grating cheese is that is leaves an untidly edge to the cheese which needs tidying up and straightening :star-smiley:

Deedee
27th October 2009, 14:26
lol, mhoc... how about allowing yourself a thin, fine slice to tidy it up, but weigh it first!!! Think how proud of yourself you'll be knowing you measured it first!!

Hi all - I need your help !!!
I have been on a life long diet, ww, herbalife, not eating at all, and I have to admit I have been bulimic for as long as I can remember, sometimes really bad and sometimes ok ish - However, since April when i had that issue with my friends (which I won't harp on about but I'm sure you all read it) something changed in me. I have always had self confidence / self esteem issues, feeling that i'm not as good as other people and looking up to them. BUT when I stood up for myself for what i believe in and realised that I am a good person and as good as anyone else somehow I regained my self confidence and esteem which has been lacking for a long time - with this the bulimia disappeared - I believe it wasnt an illness in itself but a sympton of deeper issues which i seem to have resolved. I'm proud to say that I havent binged & purged for over 6 months and I honestly believe that I wont ever again.

I havent dieted in the last 6 months and have just eaten reasonably but a lack of planning means I don't have "right foods" in the house so I'm just eating what is there. After reading dee's story I'm inspired to get planning and do SW again but I'm also on a really tight budget, could anyone give me their easy standby ideas - something you always fall back on when your not thinking.

I've got
muller light ,omelettes, baked pots, salad, 3 bean chilli, chicken in bacon etc.
I'm switching from tea - 3 sugars, to coffee with sweetener and stocking up on diet fizzy stuff.

The other thing I struggle with a bit is after a lifetime of not eating properly is that I'm scared of letting go and eat everything I'm allowed to.
When i did this before I found myself not using 15 syns and not even using both my healthy a's and b's.

I really want to get this right once and for all, cos although I've got my confidence back the last little bit is still tied up with my weight - I just don't dress nice when I'm a few stone over, combats and jumpers instead of nice jeans & tops and yet I have a wardrobe full of nice size 12 and size 10 clothes, can't really afford clothes at the mo so even losing 10lbs to get me back in some of them would be great.

I know your all great on here so I'm just asking for your help and support so I can look as fab as Dee does !!!!
