I just wondered what people were told as kids with regards to where their pressies came from. We were always told that our stocking, which would be little games and colouring books ect, were from Father Christmas and everything else was put under the tree about a week before christmas and we knew exactly who bought what. Think my parents wanted to make sure they got the glory for the main pressies! lol Also it was important for us to thank friends and family for their gifts.

It's weird 'cos you always think that what you were told is the right way then when you talk to other people you realise how different each family seems to deal with christmas!

Santa brought one gift (not wrapped and often something big) that magically appeared under the tree on Christmas morning and he filled the stockings.

Everything else was wrapped and named, so you knew who it came from.

Santa brings all the presents and fills the stocking, except one biggish ( but not the main) present which is from mum and dad

Father Christmas brings the little presents that are in the stocking, everything else is from friends/relatives, who have to be thanked!

I was talking to a mum a few Christmases ago who had told her little girl that all her presents were from Santa, and this mum was feeling a bit put-out that the girl didn't know her big presents were actually from her parents. So why she chose to tell her that, I don't know!

My heavens there are some selfish peeps around!!!

Surely the thrill for the little girl is worth so much more than some temporary aggrandisement for the mother . . . .

Some people are so shallow!
