I've only recently watched series 1 and trying desperately to find series 2 at a reasonable price - Asda wanted ?12.00 for it but I managed to get series 1 from sainsburys for ?3.99 so reluctant to pay ?12 for series 2 - need to get it and watch before new series starts - hence to say Sainsburys didnt have series 2 - anyone seen it going cheap anywhere?

TIA

It maybe a tad insensitive but I think is meant tongue in cheek and is part of the humour but not sure I would be happy if I had been personally affected IYKWIM.

Ness is really funny A great character :D

Stacey and mum are both from the Mumbles, in Swansea. But Nessa has a more of a Caardiff accent. I think she was from Bridgend or Porthcawl.

I had this email from a gavin + stacey group on FB, ironically I live right by G&S' house and on FB on xmas eve theres a piccie of me and Liam by the house

"Gavin and Stacey Locations Tour
On this 10 hour tour designed for fans of the show we’ll head off from London across the Severn bridge into the world of the West’s and Shipman’s as we take a Gavin and Stacey tour of locations used in the hugely popular BBC TV series. This tour will take you to all the key locations in and around Barry Island in Wales and include the family residence used as the Billericay home of the Shipman’s in the show.

The first tour of 2010 will be on Valentines Day on Sunday 14 February.
Learn how the show was made, watch the DVD clips as we pass the actual locations, sing songs from the series and get trivia about some of the stars from the show. On this tour you’ll have opportunities to stop, take pictures and see the locations up close.

At the end of the Gavin and Stacey location tour we’ll also send you a souvenir group picture by email.

Gavin and Stacey Tour highlights include:

•Have a lush lunch at the location used as the Italian restaurant where Smithy finds out he is to father the child of Ness
•See the ‘Billericay’ home of Gavlar, Pamlar and Mick Shipman
•Stop off at the church hall where Gwen’s immense birthday barn dance was held
•See what’s occurring at the homes of Stacey, Gwen and Uncle Bryn
•Stand on the spot on Barry Island Gavin and Stacey first declare their love for each other
•Take a photo at the church Gavin and Stacey get married in, where Neil is christened and where Ness nearly gets hitched
When?
Public Scheduled Tours – This is the cheaper option. Travel on a 29 seater luxury coach from central London to Barry Island in South Wales. If you are interested in taking the Valentines day contact us stating how many people you would like to go and we’ll call you to confirm the details.

Private Tours – If you wish to have a more intimate travel experience in a people carrier email or call us to get a quote and discuss your requirements

How Long?Approx. 10 hours"

we could do or we would do our own guided tours and lay on a spread on barry island beach !

seriously though I think the vale of glam council tourism dept are missing a golden opportunity here, they should have thought of doing something as I'm sure it would/could have generated extra tourism income.

Stacey and mum are both from the Mumbles, in Swansea. But Nessa has a more of a Caardiff accent. I think she was from Bridgend or Porthcawl.

Nessa and Bryn both went to Porthcawl Comp. They were a couple of years above my DH and were stars of the drama dept even then.

Stacey's brother, Jason (Robert Wilfort) is also from Porthcawl - his parents still live in Hookland Road. He was also in the Barclaycard advert, on the waterslide swiping his card as he goes. (I love that advert, for some reason it really makes me smile)

I had read somewhere that the mystery of the fishing trip was going to be explained during the last series. Did I blink and miss it??

I read that they wrote and filmed a scene that revealed all. It was supposed to be in the 5th episide, the one on the beach, but it had to be cut because the story didn't flow properly. I'll bet anything that this scene will be one of the "extras" on the dvd.

They already sell them in the shops right beside the beach, along with mugs with 'whats occuring' on them, lol.
