Well I have well and truely fallen off the housework wagon, and in an attempt to keep my mind off the awfulness around me, I am going to get back into my housework/home management and get my home ready for Chrimbo (we may not have much - but we'll have a clean house and a living room full of Topps Tiles pallets! lmao)

So I have started my baby steps today, and am going in for the kill on a CRISIS_CLEAN (http://flylady.net/pages/FlyingLessons_crisiscleaning.asp)

I'm looking at it as a "Organised clean house = Organised Clean(ok, clear) Life"

Feng shui to the max (apart from the topps delivery) and we'll see how I go.

Fag and coffee first!:D
Wish me luck --- I am going in!!

Good plan Dee.
I made a very silly move :( stripped the wallpaper off the main living room and then decided to have it plastered  then I cut the old carpet up, replacing soon but not by christmas  removed the curtains, pole and blinds, my windows have a lovely snowy scene called windolene

I like this schedule. Our house is so cold this morning I have no choice but to get dressed, no wandering around in a dressing gown for half the morning. And I can clena the bedroom up by just wearing everything I find on the floor :D

Dee, hub what timing you have ((((((((()))))))))

Dh thought he had booked last night off work for shopping today, hes actually become my labourer as we embark on a mad mass declutter of the house, as there is no way I can fit anything else into the house, without sending stuff to the tip, charity shop and friends...

Hes in shock, lol!!!

I've been de-cluttering for a couple of weeks now. I don't know where it all comes from. I like the 15 minutes per room idea though. It certainly makes a difference if you focus on one area at a time.

I did once upon a time try to be all Fly Lady and focus on my 'hotspots' but it just wasn't me. Perhaps I just need to face it, I'm a slob.

Next break for me, and the 15 minute bursts are being broken into little groups as DS is WELL on form!! lol
Anyhoo, my kitchen is the cleanest it has been in months, as is my bathroom.
I have 2 recycling bags full of washing and stuff that is just going to be washed as I have no idea if is fresh laundry or not!

After lunch I shall be doing the laundry, hoovering, polishing, then tomorrow I shall finish upstairs, or maybe even finish it tonight (not much really - just clear my dressing table, and put away all th ewashing etc)

I feel sooooo much better having achieved something today, I am so getting back into my Flying, I think I have missed it!! :eeek: lol

I have just ripped up some carpet in the dining room(or should I say the laundry room as there is masses of unironed laundry in there.)
our poor old dog is having continence problems so the carpets have to go.
I should really be taking it easy as i am having an cardiac angiogram on Friday:eek: but its getting on my nerves.
we are also having building work done before Christmas so I am expecting major mess from this.
thank god we aren't really having many visitors this Christmas or I would be totally stressed.

Can't paint for weeks .......

Are you sure? I don't really have a clue what I'm talking about, but years ago we bought some paint from Wickes called PAINT FOR NEW PLASTER. Because it wasn't vinyl or anything fancy, it was a straightforward emulsion, you could put it on quite soon after plastering - perhaps about a month? Although if it was just a skim of plaster, you could do it quicker.

Morning all....god How nice was it to come down to a clean kitchen? Seems like an AGE since that has happened!

Loosely following the FL thread on MSE, they are in the Master bedroom and landing today. After the basics this morning I shall hope to do the following;

My Plan:
My Bedroom.

Clear floor
(bedding is changed on a Friday here, so won't do that)
Be ruthless with my crip, get rid of it. Fill a box send to charity shop or tip.(including any clothes that no longer fit)
Put the stuff I am not going to use until next year in the attic.
This should clear the bottom of my cupboard and chest of drawers.

Hoov, dust and polish, clean windows.
Dig out any presents I bought in Jan sales (put them in a box, all in one place)

Airing Cupboard

Not much to do in there, apart from sort out all the H&B I have left.
NOTE TO SELF: Buy fresh flannels. (I don't know where they have all gone)

Hoov landing, wipe down the paintwork, remove all the glass light shades and wash them (ready to twinkle in the Chrimbo lights)

Ok, that'll do me for today -- anything I don't get done will have to wait till tomorrow, as I have my group this evening.

TD - My dining room is definately NOT going to be ready for Chrimbo, the floor arrives tomorrow now, and I still have wires hanging out everywhere and an OH who loves his xbox too much! lol

Be careful with the dehumidifier, will the plaster crack from drying too quickly?
I'm aiming to be ready by end January. I haven't ordered a carpet yet

Everybody will be trying to get a carpet for Christmas. Why not order in January when the shops could be much keener on your business - might get a bargain. But remember not to leave a big deposit - if a shop is planning to go bust, January is a good time to do it :(

Well first 15 mins break --- Haven't made a dent in the bedroom! Eeek, however, I can see what I am going to achieve today.

I have been ruthless and binned all the empty perfume bottles, I kept them because I thought they looked pretty, but tbh, a dusty group of bottles on top of the dresser is affecting my "Chi!" pmsl!

I've tidied up all the long wires from various gadgets and gizmos (not you Giz) and neatly wrapped the wires (I was blown away on a recent hotel stay that when I came back in the room after the day out, they had done this to my wires! It looked kinda cool)

oh my looks like we are all doing our living rooms!!! we've just stripped both rooms and had some plastering done, plaster took ages to dry in this cold weather (about a week). I've managed to paint all the walls now except the 2 I'm going to paper, hoping it will be done for Christmas. All the junk from the front rooms are piled high in the bedrooms and we can't put it back till the room is finished!

Right to my pig-sty, I won't be doing the master bedroom today but I think I'll continue with the 15 min cleans for now.

DS3 moved out at the end of April and he keeps coming back for more stuff out of his room. I can't believe how much he's moved and it's still not clear. Lol I'm the same if OH ever moans about the post, Joshs pack lunch bag and the boys drawings etc on the table I can say well at least it's not a sofa, it could be worse. PMSL! :spit:

Sorry MHOC it must be so frustrating for you.
I didn't do a massive tidy around today, just the usual tidy up and hoover. But I did bag up all the clothes that were too small for the boys and chuck anything away that I wouldn't pass on or use again. Whilst going through the drawers I also found a lovely scarf, gloves and hat set I bought for Jayden and lost, so another bonus.
OH got all the christmas decorations down, so when he went off to work I got started. We have loads, I never realised quite how much as every year I add a few more decorations and one or two big things. This year was a musical snow glow (large) which the boys loved and a crystal and wire LED christmas tree (again large).
The christmas tree took so so long to sort, it is touching the ceiling and there are hardly any branches with nothing on.
Also it is colour matched with the room, and every branch has to have something different, and no wires can be showing through the tinsel or bead chains. The list goes on and on, anyway it looks immaculate and OH is now feeling mega christmassy everytime he looks at it.
The lights are not on yet as the builders took our spare extension lead and a large amount of tools  from our garage when they left, so I need to pick one up tommorow so we get the full effect.
Productive day I think. :clap2:

ahhhhhhhhhhh,
Today is one of those mornings where IF I had come down to a mess, it would be worse by this evening! DS had me up all night.

Haven is the kitchen this morning.
I'm going to Derby this afternoon for training tomorrow, so I expect it to be a hell hole Saturday night, when I do get home.

My Flooring arrived last night! It is all neatly stacked in the dining room.

So my plans for this morning are;

Hoov, S&S everywhere, pack, pick up DS, lunch, make a list for everyone to follow tonight and tomorrow, then GO!

MSE are in the kid's rooms today. I am not going in there today, I need to try to fit in a nap before I pick monster up! lol

I'm a little gutted though, because the extras list involves sorting ebay stuff for free listing weekend.

N'er mind.

I must take down my lights and fans next week for a good clean its been about 8 months :eek::o (ohhh the shame:o) since the bedroom one was last taken down so its bogging (they have had a poke with a mr sheen duster thingy but its just not as good as a proper clean)

hope you have a fun weekend dee :D

well I'm really not in the mood for housework today, but it HAS to be done, so I'm going with the 15 mins bursts and starting in the kitchen. Will alternate kitchen/living room for a general clearing of the decks and laundry today.
On the plus side yesterday I was really good and wall-papered 1 wall in the living room so it's getting closer to looking lovely for Christmas :)

Morning all,
I am NEARLY ready to get the Decs down from the loft!!

My tinterweb connection is pants today -- I've already had a fight with the router!
:boxing::boxing::boxing:

All quick jobs are done so far, If I can sort out the connection after I drop DS off, I'll have a mooch at what's occurring today in the world of Housework!

I do know that I need to sort one of the saucepan cupboards out, I just went to put away from the DW and it was hell in there! lol

Hello ladies! Can I join in today please? :behindsofa:I am a fan of flylady but am a poor example and need lots of encouragement so I thought maybe you may help me with that. Dee Dee you seem really in the zone so I am hoping some of that will rub off on me.:whip:

Today I need to do Home blessing hour and fifteen minutes in a couple of rooms. I also need to look through christmas presents and wrap those for my family as we are taking them this weekend. I also have washing to put on and a pile of ironing.

I must get on but will report back in a break and put my jobs in list.

I am feeling overwhelmed so need to think babysteps and above all just get on with it.:)

It's a biggy!!

Strip arm covers from sofa, (the cusion covers aren't tooo bad)
wash and dry em.

Under stairs: Throw out all the "dumped stuff" attic the rest (seeing as I am going up there anyhoo to assess the Chrimbo decs)

Box up the remaining huggies nappies, that I seem to be finding EVERYWHERE, put them in the car and take them to the School run this avo ;)

DS's room: AHHHHH! Box up all old toys, and those annoying bits you have no idea which toy they are from, chuck em in the loft. (should have completed this last week!)

Kitchen: Saucepan Cupboard.

Start Spag bol dinner.

Hoov, dust polish.

cleared the dining table (was a dumping ground) washed table cloth and set the table nice for tea.
cleared OH desk and unit (another dumping ground).
taken meat out of freezer to make stew tomorrow.
taken meat out of freezer for tea.
washed one load of clothes (need to put them somewhere to dry)
emptied and scrubbed cat litter tray, stripped cats blankets, cushions and teddies which are in machine now having a good wash.
swept and washed kitchen floor

still to do
sort out wet washing to dry
clean living room and dining room celing fans and lights (plus switches and
sockets on walls)
polish living room, dining room and OH desk + unit
hoover through the whole of dowstairs (no doubt constantly picking stuff up and putting it away)
strip bedding off mine and DD2 bed and put fresh bedding on then wash the dirty bedding

still more to do but i think by the time ive done all that it will be time to get the kids from school and dash to music lesson etc

coffee first though :D:D

ohhhh and tonights challenge should I choose to accept it is to get OH to venture into the atic and get all my crimbo decs down so i can see what I have and what I need (also what batteries i need for them).....should be fun as OH hates going in the atic and moans it itches

All daily jobs done, and I've gone through the freezer, tidied, binned and organised. I am now going to plan a OAMC sesh, it won't be a mammoth one, just going to do a monthly meal plan (ish) and make sure I won't have to go to the shops for rubbish during the next few weeks.

I'm going to spend the weekend, cookin and a bakin, all chrimble goodies too! This is of course "Oh" permitting, as he is such a grouch when keeping the kids amused! lol
