Been meaning to post this for ages but it kept falling out of my head!!!! Any my other thread has reminded me.

Anyway if you are thinking of going on a holiday using Siblu, do a search on line for the actual resort to book direct. Nearly all of them are listed.
We saved just over £1000 by doing this for 2 weeks in August to Italy, we are paying £740 instead of £1800. And a friend who is going to one in France has booked direct and saved over £300. It does mean however that you can't use your Tesco vouchers, but it means a very cheap holiday, and you can then use your Tesco vouchers for something else.

Hope this helps...

My friend is going to Italy with Siblu through tesco which cost her £400 and she had to buy the flights and get there herself through trains etc (which that in itself daunts me!) I have thought about doing that but it scares the hell out of me having to get my own way to the site in a strange country! Has anyone else done that? and what are your experiences with it.

I was tempted but when I went through Ryanair to get the cost of flights it came to £200 for me and three kids once all the taxes and fees were added and then there would be the train fares on top of that each way and maybe a short taxi from the station to the site. I take my hat off to my friend for doing it on her own with her two girls in a strange country. I dont think I could do it (I'm bad enough in this country ) We have just come back from Mablethorpe for an easter break and the kids loved it. and I didnt go wrong once getting there I might add!!

Anyway just wondered if anyone had any experiences on DIY holidays.
Cheers and Happy easter.

Dont be put off by the thought of trains and other types of travel - look on it as an adventure. Ive just come back from Italy and we used the train (Eurostar to go from Milan to Venice. It was dead easy and remember people are generally very helpful if you need directions when you are away. A couple of times we just asked people and they couldn't have been nicer. One bit of advice that I would add is try and plan as much in advance as you can - google everything like trains in Italy from X to Y and ask questions. You can get advice from people on PTS about most things so just ask. Go on be a daredevil - do it once and you will never look back!!:D

Hi,

You can check train times and buy tickets online at http://www.raileurope.co.uk/.

Hope that helps

Thanks I will have a look and see, just doing it on my own with three kids is very nervewrecking!
I though if I can get a package holiday then I can pay for it all with vouchers rather than this and pay for fairs etc. It depends on my money situation at the time I suppose.
Also Italy is more for taking older kids I think who would get more from sightseeing. (You can see I am a woman - undecisive!!)

I have never been on a package holiday - to me half the fun is researching before hand how to get from the airport to the hotel etc... but I do not have kids it is normally just me and BF traveling so that does make things alot easier (mind you sometimes he could be thought to be worse than a kid:rolleyes: !)

I find that as long as you know what you are doing and where you are going before hand (eg train times, stations, rough costs etc) then things are normally ok and as people have said 99% of people are happy to help you with directions or guidance. We had one lovely Japanesse guy take us right to the right platform in a station in Toyko (miles out of his way) just to make sure we got there ok.

That was nice of him! I am just petrified but I think once my kids are slightly older I might do it as the younger ones are only 4 and 5 and my oldest is 13.
If it was just me and another adult I would not hesitate. Maybe in a couple of years when i can trust the kids not to wonder off!!!

I agree it would be a different kettle of fish if we had kids, at least with another adult you can leave one person with bags whilst the other goes and buys tickets or whatever. (or blaim if you get lost!!!)

Talking about wandering off I had a nightmare once when my three were little. I was travelling by train from Uckfield to Swansea. The kids were 6,4 and 3- eldest girl and 2 boys. I also had 2 suit cases so couldn't hold the kids hands. They had to hold on to the suitcases. All the way from Uckfield to Central London I continually reminded the children that as soon as we get off the train they had to hold onto the suit cases and not let go as we would be parted in the crowd- it was the rush hour as well. As soon as we got off the train my 4 year old saw some pigeons on the station and ran off after them with all of us in hot pursuit. We managed to retrieve him and run for a train. As soon as we got on it I realised that I couldn't use our saver tickets on it so had to get the kids and suitcases back onto the platform- the kids were moaning by this time as they were really tired. Before catching the right train I bought us all a drink but asked for a drink for the youngest without ice cubes. The 4 year old feeling sorry for his younger brother because he didn't have icecubes popped one in his drink. The youngest one swallowed it whole and it got stuck in his throat. We were on the train by now. My youngest son couldn't breathe with the icecube stuck in his throat and was going blue before my very eyes. In the end I got up and shouted to the whole compartment 'won't anybody help me please my son's choking'? With that a nusre ran up and did something to him. It had the desired effect out came the ice cube and a whole lot of vomit and I was completely covered in it. I had to sit like that all the way to Swansea. When everything had settled down my 6 year old daughter said 'I expect you feel really silly now shouting at all those people and making a fuss don't you?' Everytime somebody got off the train I breathed a sigh of relief that there were a few less people around who had witnessed my outburts. My Husband met me off the train at Swansea and asked 'did you have a good journey?- I was so traumatised I wasn't back to normal for weeks. Don't let me put you off though.

 Yes you have really put my mind at ease :D

I would have done the same and shouted. It amazes me how people just sit and watch while we struggle on!

I have looked at doing a package deal instead this year at the beginning of October and prob try and save for the all inclusive so I can have a break as well although quotes are coming up to nearly £1500 for one week! I only have a mere £580 in deals at the mo and there are no 1000 pointers floating around this time is there, not even in directs (which I have been waiting for to get some more toys for xmas!

Pammy - you will be fine doing it as a DIY - you will save yourself lots of money.
If you are going to Italy with Siblu (there are about 3 i thinkk) we went to Figline Valdarno with Siblu in 2005. We went out of season and paid £300 for 12 nights in September and the fligths were £200 on top.

This year however we have to go in the summer hols as DD is now at School, if we were to go through Siblu it would cost us £1800 just for the two weeks accommodation however by booking direct with the camp site we are paying £720 which is a saving of over £1000. I know we can't use our vouchers but hey a £1000 saving is huge. Our flights were a bit more as its in the summer hols i think they were £400, so for 2 weeks in august in italy we are paying £1100. I have paid for the car hire with my tesco vouchers which has saved us some money but still if you book directly with the camp sites you will save a huge amount.

A friend of mine had found one in France that they were going to and were going to book with Siblu, i found it on line for her and she saved £300, so its definately worth putting in a little bit of research. Just think you can use your Tesco vouchers on another holiday!!!

pammy
10th April 2007, 15:28
That is very true and I have found that with most holidays if you book direct with the hotels etc. I know its free when you use the vouchers but you pay over the odds dont you!

There is also the haggling you can do with all the travel agencies and such like and get the money down as far as you can if you have the nerve as i read on MSE but not sure I could hold my nerve doing that. But it is definitely worth doing your research to see how much the agencies are making doing the work for you!

Hi Pammy, I can understand your fear taking small children alone.

We also went to Figline Valdarno in Italy. Flew into Pisa and the train station is just outside the airport. Short trip into Florence then change trains and down to Figline Valdarno. Total train journey about and hour and half.

5minutes from Figline station by taxi to the holiday park. Can plan the train journey beforehand with help from www.trenitalia.com

Another nice holiday park with Siblu is La Sirene in South of France. Fly into Perpignan and the holiday park is 16miles away about a £35 taxi journey. (Sounds a lot but when you work that out per person its not to bad).

Planning can be as exciting as the holiday. Hope you have a good time whatever you decide.

I'm off to the South of France with Siblu for my 40th in July/Aug (peek wks due to school) for 3.5 weeks,3 wks on site at La Baume at Frejus near Cannes and St.Tropex.It will be our 1st time on the south coast and we will be driving there and back, well I will, the wife doesn't drive. It's a 2000 mile round trip door to door plus we'll probably do a 1000 miles or so while there sightseeing. A couple of days chilling when we get there and then alternate one day sightsee, one day chill.

I looked at lots of options. Book, ferry and camp with Siblu, camp direct and ferry direct with P&O/Tesco,taking our own car, hiring a larger car in the Uk with Avis/Tesco and self drive, fly with budget airline and then rent car near the camp with Avis/Tesco. In the end I booked the whole lot with Siblu.

Hiring a car in UK to take abroard for nearly 4 weeks was very expensive.

4 flights were about £450 + 3 weeks car hire was another £450 or so for a small car + we would'nt have our roofbox, electric coolboxes, bike rack/bikes and they would have to be hired,oh yes and a child seat.

I looked at the price the campsite was charging for a 2 bed caravan for my dates and it is 890 Euro's per week which is roughly £1842 for the three weeks plus another £200 or so for a ferry.

I paid £1900 with Siblu for the ferry and 3 weeks in an Esprit 2 bed caravan and paid it all with C.Deals. I reckon it will then cost me £180 in LPG to get there and back, not including sightseeing, (2000 miles @ 25mpg fully laden/long haul at an average of £0.50 per litre), plus maybe £150 (not quite sure I've forgot) on road tolls.

I also checked Keycamp,Eurocamp,Hoseasons etc and Siblu was the cheapest for that camp and for those weeks. It always pays to shop around and I always do but on this occassion I could not better Siblu. We are really looking forward to it.

Hi Ethansnan,
It was a toss up for us between Italy and the South of France. We chose France but would like to go to Italy another year.We have been to Italy twice before flying and have stayed in hotels but if we go to a campsite we would drive as we love exploring. We would love to know what you thought of Figline Valdarno and did you explore any of the surronding area.

Hi Tp - we went to Figline the year before last and are going back this summer-. It is so beautiful, its up in the mountains and so pretty. It has 3 restaurants on site too which are great. A brilliant swimming pool for the children which is only about 1 ft deep for them to splash about it. It also has water slides and a water rapid slide.
We did quite a lot of the sites nearby we went to Greve in Chianti which is a beautiful market village and when we were there they had a wine tasting on. We went to florence and rome too and also a day at pisa, we found a place locally that did wine tasting and olive oil tasting. Its definately worth going to, there is so much to see and do and if you want to relax by the pool then thats great too.

We've always DIY-ed our hols - we backpacked to Italy last year when the boys were 6 and 2. We took the overnight ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam, then the train to Paris, where we stayed for a few nights, then took the overnight train to Verona, and another train to Peschiera del Garda, where we were staying with Camping Life. Coming back, we did the same in reverse, but without the stopover in Paris, which meant we were travelling two consecutive nights, which I wouldn't really recommend. We did travel first class from Paris to Amsterdam though, and were plied with lovely food all morning! We wouldn't normally go first class, but by the time we booked the train tickets, it was cheaper to get a first class restricted ticket than a standard class open one!

We could have flown to Verona much cheaper, I'm sure, but the boys love the ferry (partly paid for with Airmiles) and I hate all the queuing and waiting around in airports.

I have been DIY holidays for me and the kids for quite a few years now as OH hardly ever comes with us, my kids are 8 and 11 (shortly 9 and 12) now and can pull there own suitcases which makes it easier for me, when DD was about 4 she had her own small suitcase on a wheels with a pull up handle thing and thought it was great to pull around, and now they wait at the luggage conveyor belt for the suitcases to come off the plane and I sit and watch them but I haven't booked one with Mr T's yet saving for Australia for the whole family next year as OH will be driving.

anyone have any feedback on booking French Life via Tesco deals ??

Hi, see other thread on French Life also. Not been with Siblu, but I feel French life is by far better value.
In France last year the lady in the tent opposite me had used Tesco deals to pay for their hol too!
Have been to Lake Garda and is lovely!!(although not with Siblu or French Life). I tried to book Lake Garda this year with French Life but they had stopped doing the camping option at the Lake G site which was advertised in the brochure. And the dates I wanted were all booked up for the cabins too (so book early). Think it's popular! The site I beleive is also very close to Gardaland
www.gardaland.it/en/home.php
which I really wanted to take my kids to. Maybe next year, unless I get loads deals tokens and can go somewhere really exotic!!

Just come back from the Bois de Masson in France. Went using sun vouchers and was very impressed.
Quiet due to out of season, the caravan had everything you needed and the pool was fab.
Not much to do for my 10 and 14 year old boys (they don't do kids clubs!!!) I,m happy just to relax on the beach, and this was huge.
Am thinking of going back next year using tesco deals.

Hi

We are going to Pra Delle Torri in Italy next week for a fortnight. We are flying to Marco Polo. Holiday Park and Car Hire (Avis) paid for by Mr Tesco.

I have never been to Italy before and would appreciate any useful hints/tips/advice etc particularly in connection with the site we are staying on.

So, if anyone has been to this site and wants to give me the benefit of their experience I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks :)

I've been looking at that one - I'm sure when I priced it up for May or August next year it was about £900. It appeals to me as I understand it is quite near Venice and have always wanted to go there.

Who have you booked your flights with?

The only problem is my husband has never driven abroad and probably wouldn't want to.

Do you think it would be impossible to have a holiday here without hiring a car?

Flights booked with bmi baby from Heathrow quite a while ago. I live in the South West and recently seen reasonably priced flights from Bristol with Ryanair (I think).

I've been to this area several times - if you've got kids - they'll love it. Just a word of warning - the Italians are the worst drivers. They HAVE to get in front of the person that's in front of them, so they'll over take on blind bends, over take you as you slow down for traffic lights etc. It really is something else. It takes a couple of days to get used to - just don't take it personally LOL.

Hi all, as with everyone else I am eagerly awaiting my CC vouchers to come through to book my hol for next year!

I am thinking of Le Bois Masson from the Siblu holidays brochure, has anyone been there - whats it like? Also is it a huge drive from Calais, was thinking of maybe driving half the distance and stopping overnight then the other half.

Also, in their brochure they have a couple of standard deals which are

* Book one holiday and get a free week to be taken before jun after sept
* 15% early booking discount on the dates I want (early june)
* refer a friend and you both get £50 off your hol

As these are brochure standard deals, do they still apply when booking with CC vouchers? Has anyone any experience of these? I may actually be paying half CC vouchers and half 'real' money, dont know if that will help or hinder getting these also!

Any advice very much appreciated

Did this last year. Fantastic site. Depending on were you live I'd consider perhaps paying a bit extra and getting ferry a bit further down (less of a drive). I left my house in the North West and arrived exactly 23 hours later with just 1 hour break with the ferry. Problem being that this site has very few motorway routes. It is a long drive. Would definately do it again but would get a longer ferry or stop 1/2 way in a hotel. I'd never want to put my family at risk again. I felt like a zombie by the time I arrived.

Good Luck.

When we went , we were'nt collecting tesco deals , so we paid for it , we intend to go again next year,.Using clubcard deals you have to pay the full amount when you book ,and you have two weeks to get your clubcard vouchers to them..We went to Paris first for 3 days , helped break up the driving, then to the South of France 10days,it took us 11 hours to get there from Paris, with numerous stops and children being sick , on the return home we stayed 1 night at the Paris campsite , to have a rest.

THE Siblu Parc near disneyland is Les Etang Fleuris ,about 15 -20 minutes drive. They had lovely freshly baked bread, croissants chocolate croissants in the mornings. You Cannot include ferry crossings, you have to pay cash , or book it separately with a ferry company that takes tesco deals

Were planning on booking two caravans in Cambrils park for next May half term cost £1378 of vouchers.

Only trouble is, low cost airlines havnet announced flights yet so am nervous, but the caravans will go soon som dont want to wait.

We fly from Manchester or Liverpool to Reus. or barcelona at a push.

Has anyone got any advice???

usually you would be able to get availability for the air travel as long as you do it as soon as they are released, or if not you could always amend your siblu holiday.

But a little bit of advice, I was going to do the same for a different site, but when checking, Siblu were nearly double the cost of Keycamp/french life/eurosites so i just booked as a normal 'cash' paying customer and am continuing to save my CCV's for a virgin holiday

ryanair and easyjet usually release flights about 6 months before travelling - i have booked villas etc over the past couple of years and just keep checking when the flights are released.

I second what bellas said....we went to a eurocamp for 2 weeks in italy in august...if we had booked with siblu it would have cost us £1800 but we booked direct to the camp site and paid £749 for exactly the same accommodaiton and facilities - we couldn't use our vouchers but at that price it didn't really matter coz it was so cheap...

Hi

I am also thinking of booking siblu for next year and I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice before booking. The price on their website is around 1300. I know that I need to phone to book using CC deals.

Does anyone know if the price using CC deals is much more expensive than the website price? If it is more expensive, how do you know the amount of CC vouchers to order, as I believe you need to have ordered them before you phone to book the holiday.

Thanks

That's a big difference. I don't know whether to use my CC deals now.

Was the cash price quote with Siblu or with one of the other companies? (eurocamp, french life etc.)

Thanks

The price should be as given on the Siblu website, but as others have said, effectively the same holiday could be cheaper with another company (sites often have accommodation available through several different companies), or probably even cheaper if booked direct with the site.

Hi,first post here, but have to 'fess to lurking lots!!!!
We are planning a big family holiday in Italy in the summer using Siblu. There are 3 diff families going and we will probably book altogether. Is it ok to have vouchers with diff surnames sent towards the payment as long as the surnames represent s'one going?
Anyone done this before? Would we be better making our own bookings seperately?
Thanks very much. :):)

i was going to book for 8 of us to do a siblu hol. But then I saw the price if you go direct to the site rather than through siblu. Its literally half the price. I was quoted 1378 for 2 caravans via sibly, and direct with the site quoted me £750

you find the number by googling the name of the site then just booking via them - with most of them you can book online.

No you cnat use vouchers, so if its a cse of not having the cash then go ahead and book, but if you have any cash for a hol I would pay the cash price.

However, if you did want to get a freebie with Siblu, yes you can use vouchers with different surnames, as long as you are all on the booking. Hope this helps.:)

Hello

I am just looking into booking next years hol but trying to work out roughly how many clubcard vouchers I should offer. Too late to call tonight otherwise I would.
When it says you are paying for travel supplements do they actually mean the full ferry prices and has anyone took a second car with them? I would need too and am trying to work out the cheapest way to do this. I have enough vouchers to pay for a whole holiday but want to try to avoid paying lots in cash if I can.

Thankyou

We booked last year with Siblu and had to pay the ferry supplement with credit card as we needed a regional crossing. Everything else we paid for with deals vouchers

Just booked mine - 11 nights - and the deposit (£100) had to be paid up front, then there was about £100 of other supplements/costs that I added on.
This were - regional ferry, travel cot, towels, bedding, damage waiver.
So in the end - top of the range three bed caravan in June cost £866 in deals and the rest in cash.
Bargain!

I've no knowlege of how this works normally other than what my wife as told me so need some help.

Our clubcard vouchers arrived this week so started to conver them and checked out the prices on the siblu website. I included most of the extra's and insurance and upgraded the ferry cabins and noted down the price realising that the discounts given online needed to be added back on.

When i phoned up to book the price i was given was cheaper price than online which included all the extras, and i only payed a deposit of £25 giving me two weeks to send the vouchers in. My wife said that they wouldn't let me pay the extras with the vouchers but they said I could pay the remaining balance of in full with the vouchers - Is this correct have I just been lucky and got a friendly sales person.

Yes, I was pleased as I know my wife was worried we would get our clubcard vouchers too late and find that they didn't have the 3 bed excellance with terrace so £25.00 is nothing.

I have to admit if i hadn't been forced to visit this site and do all this holiday stuff I wouldn't believe my wife was getting this holiday for free. The last few days have been a real eye opener and i finally understand why my wife is obsessed by collecting the points.

So looks like £25 is all we will need to pay.

Oh please do, i'm sure it's going to be really great but I always love to hear from other people on their take. My wife's best friend has been to two other siblu owned sites and she said that they've all had a great time at both and they have four children and found the mobile homes to have enogh space.

‘Brittany’s a breeze’
Sarah Chalmers, The Daily Mail, visited Domaine de Kerlann with her husband and baby Freddie.
‘The site was prettier than we expected, with the mobile homes nestled beneath trees. We opened the door to our own home – two bedrooms, two shower rooms and a kitchen-cum-living-room with its own shaded patio – and saw with relief that the baby essentials were not only waiting for us but in full working order.

‘The unexpected bonus was the infant pool. It was shin-deep and indoors – so totally shaded – complete with a giant toadstool. To our delight, Freddie loved it and our morning schlep to the pool became the focal point of the day. Because it was just a few minutes walk from our mobile home, we could just pick him up and go. And since the sun was so hot, we could carry him back in his swimsuit, drying off as we went. By the time the week was over, we were sorry to leave.’

Looks good to me!

All good to know, I have to admit it was my wife who decided to go to a siblu site. I'm really good with money but she is fab at making her housekeeping money last. She looked into all the different holiday deals and decided we'd be far better off booking with them knowing that the children would love going on the ferry and being able to book what seems to be a great family holiday within school holidays for £25. Might not seem fancy to most but i have to agree with her, i know our children will love it.

This includes ferry crossings, I would not have gone with them if I had had to pay for ferry crossings, would have went with french life instead.
They also messed up my pricing as well so instead of £1,500 in deals I paid just over £1,300 still a lot more expensive then if you paid cash through someone else but I was really pleased.:clap2:

I booked Siblu with clubcard vouchers last year and had to pay the deposit with 'real money' as my vouchers were not through in time. In fact the vouchers were so delayed in coming that I didnt end up paying the balance (with the vouchers) until about 10 days before we went.

There were lots of phone calls between me & Siblu regarding the balance being overdue but they did wait, with a bit of 'poor me' persuasion.

Also, I wasn't aware that if you book holiday for siblu 10 days or more, you can have another 7 day holiday for nothing on any siblu park (to be taken outside school holidays). You do have to pay off all the outstanding balance on the first holiday before booking free one. Any even better, this still works if you pay in Tesco vouchers!

Yes as far as the brochure reads you cant tie in any travel. I luckily managed to get my sailing as part of the deals but looking into it now I think I was supposed to pay for that seperately, as obviously Siblu have to pay the company still for your travel.
It's a shame as we were waiting to see how we got on with this holiday before booking up next year and was hoping to fly to Spain.
I would take the risk and give them a call and just say you want to pay the balance with your clubcard deals and see if they say anything it may slip through the net.:)

We haven't been to le bois masson or le bois dormant but i can recommend the area. The beaches are great, loads of free parking, handy to supermarkets and loads to do.

We went on the ferry caen/portsmouth and about 4 hour drive in France.

pool was gorgeous, clean as a whistle.

We went to Le Bois Masson last August and it was lovely, Le Bois Dormant is just across the road (I never went on that site). The site didn't seem that big, we were staying in a luxury caravan quite near the front and all caravans are set in little avenues so there was only a couple mins walk to the front so maybe it stretched back further then I realised.
The pools are lovely, the indoor one is basic but they have a childrens water section sealed off next to the pool where they can run in and out of water cannons etc all under cover.
Then the outdoor pool is made up of two pools one for adults the other for children and they also have two water flumes in a seperate part.
The pool areas do get very busy though, but we did go in peak season so expected that. We didn't see any of the entertainment as our children are very young so are always in bed early.
Every caravan had it's own gas BBQ so we would sit outside for hours after having dinner on the barbi before going back inside the caravan.
They had a nice little fastfood place where we bought chips on a couple occasions to go with our dinner.
There was also a little park, very basic but fine, it was so hot though and the floor was all sand so we used it very little as it was just too hot to walk on.
The location was fab but we love St Jean De mont anyway.

We went to Spain - Vilanova il a Geltru - and originally planned to use Tesco vouchers and book with Siblu, but it worked out about half the price to book with a different company and keep the vouchers for something else.

We used 'Paramount Places'. The owners have about a dozen caravans and live on site themselves. The caravans have decking and air con, and ar much better spec than the Siblu ones. We flew into Barcelona, and Steve from Paramount Places picked us up in his minibus. It was all very straighforward. Take a look at the reviews on Trip Advisor.

The site was fab, nice pools, shop, bar, etc. And great weather. I think a 2-bedroom caravan was about £500, and flights with BA were £450 for 5 of us.

Highly recommended.

Thanks for all your recommendations....think we'll go for Le Bois masson......just need to decide which ferry to get now!

We travelled on Brittany Ferries, Plymouth to Roscoff as it's the most local for us.
It is a fairly long journey on the other side but worth it honestly you could feel the heat rising in the car the further we went down the coast.
We have been to St Jean De Mont before, and probably wouldn't go much further with young children but would always try to stick to the coast as the beaches are just superb.

I noticed this info on a different thread, so thought I'd post this discount code for Siblu that I came across while comping, just in case anyone can benefit.

It's worth knowing that Siblu honour the £50 reccommend a friend discount even when paying with deals. Just booked for my brother and they gave us both an extra £50 discount. Always worth asking! To get the online discount call through and book on the web line no which is 0871 9112288.

There are outstanding siblu parcs in France’s favourite tourist spots, from Brittany with its captivating coastline, to the sun worshipper’s paradise of the south coast.

Every siblu parc boasts relaxing pool complexes, free children’s clubs, sports facilities, most are close to big golden beaches and there are sun-kissed cities such as Bordeaux and Montpellier to see.

As an added bonus for Mums Just Love readers, we are giving you the chance to save something extra off your siblu holidays. Quote the code ‘LOVE’ when pricing your holiday online or when speaking to the siblu team on 0871 911 7777, and you can save up to 25% off your holiday. Book before 31 May.

We're going here in August/Sept - do you hire a car at the airport or do you have any other advice for getting to the site without a car please?

Thank you :thumb:

You will need a car....norcenni is about 30 mins drive from Florence...not sure which airport you are flying into but we are flying into Bologne (about 1 1/2 hrs away)....

Although i think if you are flying into Florence there is a train service that takes you to Figline Valdarno which is the village that norcenni is in and the camp site then do a shuttle service from the train station.

You will really enjoy it its such a lovely place to stay and lots for the children to do (and the adults too)

Hi, this is my first post so please bear with me!

ANyone got any experience booking a Siblu holiday with deals? Ive managed to save £100 which would give me £400 off a holiday. Is it worth spending the vouchers now, or should I hold off until feb when I might have saved some more?

Im never gonna be able to save (thru deals) the cost of an all inclusive Virgin holiday, but would love to book something abroad for my wee family (2 under 4s)

Any advice or tips would be really appreciated!

Thanks! :)

I booked Siblu in August for June 2010. I paid for extras with my card (bed linen and damage waiver) and I was told the balance was due in November.
I was also told that I didn't need to send the Tesco deals until November - therefore giving another quarter of vouchers if I so wished.
This was contrary to what it said in the notes that came with the deals vouchers.

The price is slightly higher than the online price but not much. If you have little ones go before the school hols for a good price . If i were you i would wait for the november mailing and convert to siblu vouchers and book. Also read the reviews on the sites online.
It is a good way to spend vouchers as they dont over inflate the price for ccard customers.Enjoy we love the sun and bbq ing outside on the deck with a glass of cheap french plonk!

Also easyjet and ryanair have just released their summer flights so we have just booked 5 flights luton to montpellier for £290 which saves a lot of driving and petrol although we will have to hire a car so its swings and roundabouts really. However its saved about 12 hours each way travelling!

Sunchild - Siblu are offering vouchers that can be used on park for a preferential rate next year.

They first offered the scheme last year as far as I know and it allows you to buy Siblu vouchers to be spent onsite at a rate of 1.25 euros to the £. So £100 gets you 125 euros compared to about 107 at the current exchange rate. Depending on the park they can be used to purchase food/drink in the restaurants and takeaways and to pay for leisure activities/bike hire etc.

The site says that the offer is applicable to new bookings only from January 4th 2010 but I have just managed to add these to our April and Aug holidays, both of which were booked last April. We did the same last year too with no problems.

You can purchase a maximum of £250 euros per booking and any unspent vouchers can be returned to Siblu for a refund at the same exchange rate on your return. A great way to help your spending money stretch that bit further. HTH's.

I've also posted this on the main Siblu thread for anyone who has booked
next year.
