Shortest day of year

Today 21st Dec is the Winter solstice, shortest day of the year and all that, so the days will start getting longer and the nights shorter :clap2::clap2:

I'm really feeling it this year. I think this has been the longest darkest winter for years.

I'm with you Tabby. I hate having to walk the dogs in the dark. But as they say, the nights will now start getting longer:clap2:

Oh I love this time of year as equally as the summer! Where I live and drive to and from work we get some of the most stunning views from the changing weather, especially at this time - I do however dislike January and February because it tends to be damp and dismal.

Still look forward to the 21st though - it's only a couple of months and the daffy's start to come out and after christmas the crocus and snowdrops.

Counting down the days until spring time!! Someone once told me that on Feb 14th you can leave work at 5pm and won't need the lights on the car.....i hang out for this day and its true...6 weeks and counting!!!

Yesterday was the longest day of my life!!!!! took an extra 6 hours to get out of London !!
