I know lots of members on here are regular Disneyland Paris visitors, and even thought ive been myself I cannot recall having seen electric mobility scooters in the parks.

I am due to go in three weeks, and after last year having to cancel a holiday due to a foot injury which is now fully recovered I fell down a hole last week and damaged my knee and seems like its going to take a while to recover so walking long distances is very painful.

I am quite prepared to hire or even buy second hand to take with us, but cannot seem to find out if they are ok to use in the parks. As my knee feels at the moment im not even sure I would make it from carpark to park entrance. So im feeling very depressed and desperate for any advice.

It certainly isn't a problem to take your own. When we went recently we had to hire a wheelchair there. Take a recently dated letter from your doctor to say that you can't walk etc and you will be given an easy access pass at City Hall (on the left after you go through the turnstiles). This will enable you and your family to go in the disabled entrances for some of the rides and you will also be able to stand/sit in the spaces reserved for disabled people to watch the parade. If ever in doubt ask a Cast Member.
I'm trying to remember what difficulties I had. No problem getting round virtually everywhere although it was difficult getting over the bridge to Adventure Isle in AdventureLand. You are supposed to book a time with the photo stand in the shop at the exit of Pirates of the Caribbean - we never did and it didn't seem a problem. There is often a 10 minute wait or so because they are only allowed one wheelchair-user on a ride at a time. Obviously to do the rides you need to be able to get out of your chair.
The only bit I really didn't like and wouldn't do again was going in the disabled entrance to Phantom Manor - it's the exit for everyone else and it's very dark so you have everyone coming round the corner bumping in to you and because you've just come in from outside you can't see anything.
Otherwise all fine. Any questions just ask because it sounds like I was in exactly the same boat as you.
