....than to get cashback on Quidco for me this year! This is the first time in many years when going through Quidco isn't cheaper.:(

AA premium = £309 c/b £26

Tesco (not through Quidco) £260

These are just two examples and the quotes were for the same level of cover.

It just shows you really need to check more than just Quidco when comparing. Last year a renewal with Churchill was cheaper than any Quidco company even when deducting cashback from premium, and tried two comparison sites too.

This year got the best quote from Quidco even before allowing for £70 cashback!

So true. I always check Quidco first with the expectation that they can't be beaten - how wrong I was!

someone mentioned car insurance to me at work today which reminded me that mins runs out on Friday. That's my job for tomorrow. I hate going through all of the quotes but I'd hate to pay too much even more.

Direct Line are pretty competitive at the moment too. My cheapest quote was Tesco - I usually don't bother with them.

Our car insurance is due soon, and the best quote we got was through tesco, with ONECALL. Definitely beats anything through quidco.

Swift cover have been the cheapest for a good few years, can't find them on quidco but £28 cashback on top cash back.

i'm sure you all know this but beware of the 'compulsary' and 'voluntary' excesses on the policies. Sometimes the policy looks really cheap but the excesses are horrendous! 2 years ago i took out a tesco value car insurance to find out that the excess was £350!

I went with admiral multi car last year - much cheaper than anything quidco could offer. That was the first time I had came across this as well....although have used tesco in the past as find them good for the new customer quotes but not at renewal time.

Absolutely! The Tesco 'no frills' car insurance had an excess of almost £500 plus my voluntary excess!! It pays to check these things.
