On Quidco you can get £70 for taking out a pet insurance policy, mine was £6.06 per month so effectively almost free for the year. Says on the Quidco website that today is the last day for this though so be quick if you want it. Mine tracked on the next day.

Thanks for posting this. I got a new puppy 4 weeks ago and getting her insured has been something that I needed to do and your post gave me the nudge to get it done. I've set up one policy for the new pup and a second policy to start later in the month for my other dog. Hopefully they'll both track, even if there is any sort of hiccup I'm happy with the prices and it's good to have the pup insured.

yes, a thanks for me too - in fact haven't been on quidco for a couple of weeks and decided to get a quote for Barney and was pleasantly surprised that the monthly payment is only just over £8 and with £70 cashback.
Best surprise of all though was discovering Orange had paid out on a phone contract Id taken out about 7 weeks ago - £160.00 received - lovely!

Thank you for this - am trying to do it but when I click on "get a quote" it just sends me to a page saying "thanks you for your interest". Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for this. It took me ages to find the right page but I got there in the end. How long does it take to track?
Mine is working out at just under £6 a month. Our kitten has just started going out and she is such a good mouser - trouble is you worry incase the mice turn around and bite her back!
Also seem to think we get double nectar points but I dont know when this starts?

I can't understand why it is doing that to you, I just had a look again and when I click on 'get a quote' it takes me to the page to fill in my details.

I think the double points was only if you took the more expensive cover but could be wrong.

yes, the double points on shopping for two years is definately on the 1st option policy (the higher premium). Guess you have to weigh it up. I suppose moggies vets bills may be less overall the pooches. Not sure if that lovely puss in the news with the prosthetic paws had insurance. That must have cost a mint. Bless him though.
How are you coping with the mouse thing mhoc? My worst is when you find half a mouse... or worse just a tail. Yukky boo!
My little Hope often catches frogs and brings them in. Another yukky boo! Oh and grass snakes.

The mouse thing gets worse. On Saturday she brought a live vole in and let it loose in the lving room and it vanished behind the furniture. We moved everything from behind the sofa but it was only about the size of a finger nail so impossible to find. OH did see it later behind the TV so he cleaned out there, still no vole. Later both cats were convinced it was in the dining room corner. We shut Sophie in there on Saturday night and no sigh of the vole since. Its probally dead in a corner behind the sideboard and about to start a terrible smell involving more furniture moving
Sunday I think the count was 4 voles - 1 live and 3 dead and a larger field mouse, also dead.
Thankfully this morning she is asleep on the computer room chair and givng the wild life a fighting chance :D

I think the double points are well worth it for me, I do about 70% of my shopping there now.
All of our cats have involved very expensive vets bills. I think the difference between the lower and higher level was only about £1 for Sophie.
OH said something astute the other day we had not taken into account when we got her - this is actually the cat that will grow old with us. The kids will fledge the nest sometime in the next few years, Ronnie our other cat will probally not have a long life because of his previous injuries so there will just be us two and Sophie getting old and decripid!

I'm a bit concerned about the £7500 per treatment.
Maybe I'm reading it wrong but if puss suffers a lifelong condition say as a kitten/young cat and needs lifelong treatment will £7,500 for life be enough?
Meds plus vets visits over many years could top £7,500 or am I talking rubbish

numpty - I think the cashback is only one but Sainsburys are offering a further 5% discount per multiple pet.
There are probably better deals out there like Kenzie has found but it came in at a reasonable price for Barney £8 per month and the cashback is useful.
Haven't got Hope & Marley insured as they both had cat flu as babies so I am assuming this will heavily inflate their premiums so I will just take my chances with them.
Knowing a friend with a boxer who is on lifetime treatment for a thyroid condition necessitating regular blood tests in addition made me go for it. She then had an ulcerated eye (from a cat swipe through the bushes) which also ran into several thousands in fees for treatment. If she didnt have insurance I doubt her pooch would no longer be with us as the bills to date have been ridiculous.

happyally - can't believe your cat brings in grass snakes.
Couldn't live there as am phobic, and if I did the cat would definitely be locked in (and me as well as I wouldn't dare go out!!!).
How on earth do you get rid of them?

Just remember guys whilst the price is quickly forgotten, the level of cover could come back and bite you on the bottom. Please check the cover and make sure you have a policy that will cover most eventualities. Buying insurance is not like buying something like a car or laptop or whatever. Really if you care about your pet and your peace of mind then price should not be the first consideration.
Having said all that yes obviously some cover is better than none.

We live near a railway line and a lot of grassland the other side - I can only assume this is why there are so many.
None of my other animals have been interested in them but Hope has a penchant for them definately. Thankfully they rarely have the head on when Hope drops them in the kitchen - but they are not that big really. Had the odd experience of the opposite - the head and about a third of its length intact and still the tongue flicking in and out. Yuk! I keep well away from the head end! I feel really sorry for them, they seem to die really quickly after which she loses interest.
Frogs are tough little cookies and seem to tolerate lots of "play" without injury - its the catching them to put them back out thats a problem - they ping off in all directions. Take ages.

Just been messaging Quidco about how long this one is going to take to actually pay out and thye say it will be the end of December (which to me sounds like it will be mid January) Sounds like an awful long time to wait - 6 months

Thnaks for the update. I keep seeing mine showing as tracked and thinks about emailing quidco but that's all I've done think about. I'll look forward to getting the £70 eventually but I agree very, very slow.

Ive also put an earnings enquiry into quidco on this one. No sign of any movement at all.
Was wondering though, Sainsburys Finance have nothing on offer via Quidco at the moment and I do recall Quidco saying the reason they stopped offering paypal payments over £25 was because a major insurer had pulled out due to misuse of the scheme. Wonder if it was Sainsburys Finance?
Really hope we get this one. Yes, 6 months is a ridiculous amount of time.

My enquiry seemed to have a knock-on effect. Within 10 days my £70 had gone from validated to tracked and today it has been received. yay!
Hope I get that before the end of the year. That will be £320 this year for services I would have bought anyway.
