Anyone any ideas how I can get blue fabric conditioner off beige carpet in my hallway. I have tried everything to no avail. I thought about buying a steam cleaner (had one before from argos but took it back as it did not seem to get things clean). Next thought was to get a carpet cleaner person out. Any other suggestions that would be cheaper and might do the trick. Thanks in advance.

Morrisons have Rug Doctor machines for hire - same can be hired from Homebase and seen them in other stores too.
DH hired one last week and cleaned our cream carpets - really impressed as it removed stains the Vax hardly touched so highly recommend :)

oops, I havent tried it myself, but a google search came up with:
Follow these steps to remove fabric softener stains from Acetate, Carpet/Synthetic, Carpet/Wool, Fiberglass, Rayon, Silk, Triacetate or Wool:
* Dampen the stain with water and rub gently with bar soap (do not use a dedorant-type soap). Or, rub the area with liquid laundry detergent such as Shout Liquid Laundry Stain Remover.
* Rinse thoroughly with clear water, then blot the excess liquid and allow to dry.

Id use lots of clean cotton towels and stand on them to soak up the liquid which should pull the stain up with it
Worth a try?
Good luck, M x
