A couple of times in the last month I've forgotten to go through quidco before buying at Tesco, but for some reason they've tracked. Sure there is a logical explanation but could someone tell me what it is?

Your cookies may not have been deleted so Tesco's website may still be reading the one linked to cashback. However this may not be the case and some websites pass on information regarding subsequent transactions to the affiliate network that was originally used.

That is the same thing but to the good.

If your visit a site first then go via TESCO you may not get the credit if you did not delete the first cookie.

In you case you may have visited first with TESCO then used another site without the TESCO cookie being deleted, same thing just the other way around.

What I do is this:

Normall web site access I use IE.
If I want to earn cashback I use FF
But after closing IE and before opening FF I run CCleaner to delete all cookies.
Then I start up FF and go straight to the cashback site.

And I have never had any problem.

Yep, I close down all web-pages, run CCleaner and then re-open and go via Quidco. Never had a problem doing it this way.

What?

I think the rest of the post that you didn't quote explains?

Basically people complain they go to a site then go to Quidco then find their cashback doesn't track because the original cookie (going straight in not using Quidco) makes it all look, to your computer, like you didn't go thru Quidco.

Britbrat is saying if you go through Quidco and have a look then later forget to use it, it remembers the cookie and thinks you went thru Quidco. So this is the same thing as above but for the good instead of to the detriment.

I was refering to the rather strange english, hence not the full quote. Besides, my answer was spot on.

Correct, your english is better than mine.

Always best to close every web page down, clear out cookies using ccleaner (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) (I also do temp files) and reopen browser and go straight to the cashback site.

As I said above I also change browser from IE to FF and I have never had a problem not even once.
