Calling any washing machine experts out there!

I have a fantastic new Samsung WF8804RP - only problem is the padlock button keeps flashing on the digital display when the machine isn't in use, whether the door is open or closed, and it makes an annoying clicking sound about every minute. This may sound a bit fussy - but it's loud enough for me to hear it when I'm lying in bed trying to go to sleep!

In the user manual, it gives instructions how to activate/deactivate the child lock & sound functions which display in the same place, but nothing about the padlock sign. It shows a picture of it, with the other 2 symbols, but that's all :(

TIA

Think you will need to get the engineer out it sounds like a malfunction. I have a Samsung machine but haven't had this problem, took out the 'whatever happens' cover when I bought it from Currys which I wouldn't normally do but Have 4 sons so washing machine is essential. After just a couple of months my 3 year old son broke the door off by swinging on it so I was glad I had the cover, then after 3 years and again 2 months ago had the bearings done (I wash every day, sometimes more than once!) . I don't think there could be a problem they wouldn't try to fix as bearings is the most expensive as far as I know! Think I may cancel the cover now as I just had a new pump fitted, if I carry on I will never get a bigger and better machine.

Thanks Mel - might be a good idea while it's still under warranty!

Yes indeed, the repair man said to me they are not a bad machine, most have standard parts now so there's not a lot to choose between them but I would love to have one big enough to fit a double duvet.

I tried the air refresh function for the first time this morning on one of DS's jumpers - worked a treat :)
