Don't know if anyone is interested, copy of email I have just received from Cruise Kings. Taking place in Southampton, and includes lunch. :)

Consumer Ship Visit Invitation
Wednesday, 28th September 2011
Independence of the Seas is a great ship and, in the opinion of The CruiseKings, offers some of the best value cruise holidays around.

But still not sure if Independence is the right ship for you?
We have limited space available for a consumer ship visit on 28th September in Southampton.
The exact details are to be confirmed, but meet at about 10am at the cruise terminal.
After embarkation there will be an escorted tour of the ship lasting about 2 hours followed by lunch.
Disembark at about 2.30pm

Notes: You must be at least 21 years of age and be in possession of a valid passport.
Anyone who has previously cruised on Independence or any other Freedom class ship are not eligible.
If you are interested please send an email to cruises@sempletravel.co.uk with your names, email address and telephone number.
We will then be in touch to advise if you are confirmed for the visit (space is very limited) and more details will then be required (dates of birth, passport numbers, etc)

All prices checked and available at 4pm/23rd Aug.
But prices and availability can change at anytime.
Valid for new bookings only.

I've emailed them, just have to see what happens next.

I had a look at hotels for the night before but no special offer rooms - not surprising as Ventura is also setting off the day before so with 2 big ships in port all rooms with be full price.

So it will be the train for us, set off at the crack of dawn and get into Southampton just after 9 - quite mad but we have train passes.
