What is it?

On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September 2011 (local UK time), eBay.co.uk registered Private Sellers who list item(s) (with a starting price of £1 or more) in an eligible category using the Auction-style format on eBay.co.uk, will not pay an Insertion Fee per listing.

Items listed using professional tools, such as (but not limited to), Turbo Lister and Sales Manager Pro, are excluded. Items will only be eligible for this promotion if they are listed with the Quick Sell or Advanced Sell (Sell Your Item) forms or the eBay iPhone, eBay iPad or eBay Android applications..

To take part in this promotion, sellers must be registered as resident in the UK.

When is it?

Saturday 3rd September from 00:00:01 and Sunday 4th September 2011 until 23:59:59 local UK time (promotional period).

What's included?

•Only items listed on eBay.co.uk using the Auction-style or Auction with Buy It Now option formats in an eligible category with a starting price of £1 or more are included. Listings using the Auction-with-Buy It Now format will be charged the Listing Upgrade Fee for Buy It Now. Sellers may only list up to 100 eligible items with a starting price of £1 during the promotion period. Once a seller has reached this 100 item limit, any items listed during the promotion period with a starting price of £1 or more will be charged standard Insertion Fees according to the eBay Insertion Fees Policy.
•Items with a starting price of between £0.01 and £0.99 are excluded from the promotion. Please refer to "What's Excluded?" for more details.
•Only sellers whose accounts meet eBay's minimum seller performance standards are eligible. Please refer to "What's Excluded?" for more details.
•Only items listed with the Quick Sell or Advanced Sell (Sell Your Item) forms, or the eBay iPhone, eBay iPad or eBay Android applications.
•Any eligible item previously scheduled to go live during the promotional period will qualify for the promotion.
•During the promotional period, if sellers re-list an eligible item that had previously closed without a successful sale, the re-listed item will qualify for the promotion.
•If the re-listed item sells and is eligible under the eBay re-list policy, eBay will not refund the Insertion Fee, as sellers would not have paid an Insertion Fee (the promotional Insertion Fee price of 0 pence) for re-listing the item.
•Items listed in the "Vehicle Parts & Accessories" category are included. Please see "What's Excluded?" for categories excluded from the promotion.
•Only Private Sellers registered on eBay.co.uk as resident in the UK are eligible.

What's Excluded?

•Business Sellers are not eligible to participate in this promotion.
•PowerSellers are not eligible to participate in this promotion.
•Sellers whose accounts do not meet eBay's minimum seller performance standards are not eligible to participate in this promotion. Please sign in to My eBay and view your seller dashboard to verify whether your account is currently meeting the standards. If you have completed fewer than ten transactions as a seller, this information will not appear in My eBay but you will receive email notification if your account falls below the minimum performance standards. •Items listed with a starting price of between £0.01 and £0.99 will be excluded from the promotion, and will instead count towards your 100 free new listings/month, in accordance with the eBay Fees policy. Please see "Further Information" below for more details.
•All items listed in the "Cars, Motorcycles & Vehicles" category.
•Items listed in the "Residential Property" category.
•Identical listings that do not comply with our Duplicate Listings policy.
•Buy It Now (Fixed Price) format listings.
•Any item listed during the promotional period but scheduled to start after the promotional period does NOT qualify for the promotion.
•Any items listed which do not comply with eBay's Listing Policies or Prohibited and Restricted Items Policies.
•Items which are listed with a Reserve Price are excluded from this promotion.
•Only the basic eBay Insertion Fee will be reduced to 0 pence (£0.00). All other eBay selling fees will still apply, including but not limited to Final Value Fees, optional Reserve Price Fees and all Listing Upgrade Fees such as "Gallery Plus" or "Subtitle"; See the full details about eBay fees.
•All items listed with professional tools, such as (but not limited to)"Turbo Lister" and "Sales Manager Pro" are excluded from this promotion.
Members listing using the Auction-with-Buy It Now format will still be charged the Listing Upgrade Fee for Buy It Now.

Further Information

•If the item is listed in 2 categories, the Insertion Fee will be 0 pence (£0.00) times 2 i.e. 0 pence (£0.00).
•If the item qualifies for the promotion, the "Sell Your Item" form will indicate to the seller that they have been charged the Insertion Fee of 0 pence (£0.00).
•If you list items during the promotion period with a starting price of between £0.01 and £0.99, these listings will be excluded from the promotion and will count towards your 100 new listings/month limit. Please see here for more details about the 100 new listings per month limits.
General Terms
•eBay reserves the right to suspend, change or cancel the promotion at any time, in the event of circumstances arising which, in eBay's opinion, make it necessary for it to do so. eBay reserves the right to add additional terms and conditions for certain parts of this promotion.
•eBay also reserves the right to exclude users on the basis that their seller accounts have fallen below the minimum required seller performance standards. Sellers should confirm eligibility by checking their account status on My eBay.
•The decision of eBay regarding any aspect of this promotion is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Thanks very much for that. With all these free listing weekends, even though I only sell a few items each time,
my long-standing relists are being whittled down wonderfully :D

This afternoon I really must take some more photos and get some more stuff listed.

Just a reminder about free listing, easy to forget when the weekends are busy anyway. I will probably just relist things.

just a quick check please...

I can list this weekend and have much higher starting prices for free? I some some baby bits that I'm happy to take 9.99, etc for but don't want to let go for 99p, iyswim...

Then if they don't sell, next time I can just hit relist, and that is free also?

Finally, did I dream it, or did I read a few monthes ago, it was free to list in 2 catagories?

Yes it's free listing this weekend mamz so you can start listing at what you want.

I think you can't relist for free next relisting day, I think it charges but am not sure.

And yes on free listing days it's free for two categories :)

welll, I fed the kids, blitzed kitchen.... but nought on Ebay yet, lol....
