ERM, thought HE was just a case of choosing "2persons". Then if you get the room, just email hotel before and ask for twin beds. Strange problem finding it easier to price match " with parking included". PM me your request (hotel n dates) n I can try to assist.

Just out of interest - which sites have folks found cheaper deals than on HE? :-)

generally that info isn't posted online (in terms of Flyertalk forums where several BPG schemes are discussed) because by highlighting which sites offer the lower prices consistently, they're more likely to disappear (pressure from the big hotel groups).

when I have done my three successful claims with HE, they have all been with fairly mainstream sites (in fact on two occasions, they were with the hotel's own website); in fact, there are very few comparators if trying to compare a package which includes parking (normally just the hotel's own website) - most of the other websites are owned/affiliated to HE.

Someone worried me on the dibb, as the terms and conditions state all parts of the booking must be used. I definitely wouldn't use the parking part, so that's put me off booking with that included.

If you get bored and are up for the challenge, I'm looking for a hotel 15th September for 2 people at Heathrow. Am flying from terminal 3 but not that fussy as can get the hoppa bus from most of them I think.

Had confirmation of my lounge booking being refunded, so am really pleased. Now just need the hotel to go with it! I did look at all the hotels tonight on their own website and couldn't find anything cheaper.

I have used trivago, Expedia, hotels.com in the past for price match. Also, try raddison blu for Heathrow

When do you return to UK?? Even though it is irrelevant because you do not want parking, HE have recently added a clause to their t&c:

10 - As Holiday Extras is a travel business specialising in the provision of travel add-ons such as airport parking, airport hotels and airport lounges, our guarantee applies only to products purchased as part of a customer's holiday plans. The guarantee does not apply to our products purchased on a standalone basis, without any onward travel plans. Accordingly, we reserve the right, when considering a claim, to request evidence of your travel itinerary.

Think you'll find it might be tricky to get any "price match" on a hotel that far in advance - as OTA will not really start offering discounts until much nearer the time - also, your money will be tied up with HE for all that time - I generally book a max of 3 months in advance, and on my last one, it was only 4 weeks (although I did find that offers were harder to come by at that timeframe) - I'd probably aim for about 8-10 weeks before.

Not fully decided yet. Am doing a transatlantic cruise, so flying to Barcelona to join it, then will be flying home from New York, at the moment seems most likely I'll be flying home to Manchester as thats cheapest one way flight I can find.

So, I think I've found one today. Crowne Plaza on FHR website is 129 for twin room, non flexible rate, whilst it is 150 on HE for the same. However, my concern is because its non flexible, if HE decide for some reason not to give it "free", then I'm stuck paying a lot more than I would have done for a hotel (if I can't find anything suitable I can get for "free" through this I'm quite happy with premier inn/travellodge etc.

With cancellation insurance of 2.49, you can cancel with HE (even non flexible ones I think??) - might need to check that?
HE have a very strange cancellation policy.......
