I'm putting off getting mine until I hear what you went for & how it is.
The 4K is the one to get and it's worth the premium of the firestick IMO. You get worldwide sports and new movies, what else do you want to know?

Will it come ready to view all the sports & movies or will I need to download stuff first?

My uncle's Android box did have all the sports & movies but they kept getting closed down/disappearing - so each weekend they weren't in the same place. So he had to spend ages looking for his channels then finding channels that were of reasonable quality.
Will this prevent that? Is it a case of e.g. selecting Sports Channels icon then selecting BTT sport 1 from the various channels?
Basically I want it to function as close to my Virgin Tivo box as possible - without endless scrolling through channels to find what I want - does that make sense?
The Autgust DVB600 I saw on holiday seemed like a very easy to use system - it suddenly got me interested in getting one myself.

Oh yeh I should add I don't have WiFi - so everything must have an wired ethernet connection.

You need to add the software that I posted earlier, to stream content.

You would need to update it a couple of times a year and this is manual and takes 10mins.

Mobdro is very good for all the sports and has a list of channels. Kodi with the beast skin is slightly harder to navigate but has all your films and TV shows. The EPG like your Virgin box isn't very good so for normal live TV I don't use the Kodi box. Have a look at YouTube videos searching for Mobdro and Kodi the beast.

Get the Amazon for 4K box for connecting to your internet.

Do I just follow the instructions in the top link?
What are the other links to - do I HAVE to install those too or are they optional?

Yes you need to do it all. Just follow the links and follow the instructions within each link. It'll probably take you a few hours but you'll have a good understanding once done.

    http://megatvbox.co.uk/site/

This is the site I got my box from as it's already set up and it updates as I'm not very tec savvy.
I'm very happy with it and it has everything I want to watch available - I know a lot of people will say it's a waste of money but if your computer illiterate like me this box is great as it does everything for you.

So you have Kodi, firestarter and Mobdro loaded? You can use Mobdro to watch sports now.

Are you at the system - file manager - add source stage?

You need to add type this, use the Amazon fire remote app on Android or iOS as it's easier and quicker.

I followed the first link & installed Kodi on the Amazon Fire TV 4K box - that was all ok.

I haven't done link 2 (Modbro) as that appeared to be for watching stuff on your phone or something (not really bothered about that - as I don't have wi-fi I don't want to stream stuff on my phone too much).

I haven't done link 3 as that appeared to be for a Fire Stick which I don't have.

The last one with the beast is where it's going wrong. Yes when I try to add source I am entering the http://thebeast1.com/repro as it says but when I click on done it comes up with 'the beast couldn't retrieve directory information. this could be due to the network not being connected'. I've double checked the internet connection & all seems to be fine - I can access content via the Amazon home page all ok which must mean it's connected to the internet all ok. So it's a bit of a problem I'm struggling with. Any suggestions?
